I just saw Brother Bear! (No Spoilers)

Don't worry, no spoilers here!

And it was fantastic, a really great movie. The animation on the bears themselves was really well done. Very dramatic story, but there is enough comedy in it to amuse everyone. The movie starts out in 1:85:1 aspect ration (I think) but after a fade to black it turns to 2.35:1, which is a lil different, but it has no adverse affects on the film for those of you who may be worried.

Anyway, ignore those critics who didn't like this movie, they are full of crap as is anyone who claims this is a Lion King rip off. The only thing they have in common is they are both animated and they have animals in them.

The music was well done as usual, Phil and Tina were fine, but I really enjoyed the background score especially in the dramatic scenes. Speaking of backgrounds... this one had some amazing artwork, beautiful painting of mountains and forests.

An interesting side note... there were seats reserved for the movie critics from the Philadelphia Inquirer... they never showed up! Maybe that's why some movies get bad reviews, huh? Ya gotta see the movie to have an opinion on it guys! Anyway, they missed out on an extrodinary film.

We all want to know (well I do) - How important is the "Brother hunting Brother" aspect of the story? Is it a major arc? It's what interests me the most (as you probably already know!)

It is not THE driving force of the film, it plays a major role in the last half. I think that you will like that aspect of the film, but don't go in expecting nothing but that. I think that anyone who is a major Disney nut, and we know quite a few

, will really enjoy this film. You may find yourself speaking in a faux Canadian accent when you leave the theater! Beauty, eh!

I almost forgot the trailers...

They were Haunted Mansion, Cat in the Hat and Home on the Range. I guess you most likely want to know about the last one there...

Home on the Range looks hysterical! Very wacky looking with an equally wacky plot. Basically, there is this ranch where all the animals are happy. The owner, this old lasy is going to lose it so the animals hatch a plot to capture a desperate criminal to cash in on the reward money! What the heck!? LOL

That's fine. Being as it wasn't mentioned in any of the trailers, I was concerned that it was removed all together.

I wasn't expecting it to be the major storyline - simply because it's not been referenced.

Did you take a dead mouse with you Maerj, to put in your popcorn and try to get a free tub?

And I check out the Philadelphia Inquirer online all the time (to get my Philly Sports fix)...it'll be interesting to see how those critics critique the film.

I got them because of the Disney Club membership. They are ending the club this year, unfortunately in favor of having the Disney Credit card. I may get that, but it won't be the same.

Yeah, I will be very interested in seeing their review. That's lame that they didn't show up, maybe they picked different seats or will see it at another showing, who knows? But it was good, very dramatic at times. There was a girl sitting next to me and she was crying at one point. Even my girlfriend said that she was on the verge of tears! Not me! Maybe I had an eyelash in my eye or something though...

So Tina Turner does sing in the movie? In the trailer "Great Spirits" was sung by Phil Collins, and it got me a little confused, as his version is not on the soundtrack CD.

I'm actually interested in The Cat in the Hat..!! i saw the teaser-trailer.... but not the full trailer... for some reason it doesn't seem to work on my comp.... anyhoooooo..... how does it go??

That's lame that Ebert and Roeper gave away the ending. I hate these people who always want to spoil movies, its just dumb. That's why I keep my reviews simple, I just say how I liked the movie and thats it. I figure that people can go see it themselves if they want to know more.

The Cat in the Hat trailer was actually pretty good. I didn't like the teaser at all, but the full trailer was funny and looked a lil more like the book/cartoon. I didn't like that Grinch movie at all, so I hope they do a better job with this one.

Yes, Tina Turner sings in the movie, just that one song.
