I would like to see it, and if time allows, I will. It seems interesting and you all know how much love I feel towards The Lion King, which this seems to be aspiring to. Music, animation, and themes seem more interesting to me than anything Disney's put out under their feature animation since 2000, I think.

I don't know about opening day. But definitly opening weekend! Can't wait!!! Just a few more days!!! I bought a koda beanie from work today! so cute!

After the couple previews I have seen of Brother Bear, I will most likely be seeing it . The moose are hilarious (from what I have seen). Another reason I want to see it is because the animation looks well done, and some of the 'crew' who worked on The Lion King (cant remember who) have come back to work on this movie. Did anyone notice the familiar stampede during the trailer?-heh.

Well, there wasn't one for "I've already seen it, but DON'T live in NY or LA" so I just voted for the "I've seen it and live in NY or LA."
Seriously, if you are a Disney fan at all, you will love this movie. If you love traditional Disney animated features you WILL see this movie in theaters. Brother Bear is NOT the Lion King nor does it try to be the Lion King. Completely different story. Looking at how much money its made so far on just 2 screens this will most likely be successful for Disney, its a fantastic film and deserves to be a hit!

If you don't see Brother Bear in theaters, you don't care. And if you don't see it in theaters, when you're complaining in a few years that there aren't any new traditionally animated features anymore I'm going to tell you all to sit your damn selves down and shut the hell up because you didn't do anything to support the cause and you won't have earned the right to complain.

. I cant wait for it to come out. On Animal Planet just tonight they had a special on the movie and I saw a couple clips, and it looks like it will be a great movie. And you are right-TLK is a completly different story. I was just saying (in my last message) that some from TLK worked on this movie, so the animation should be great 
Well, Jake - I'm seeing it opening day. Maybe twice - I mean, I have nothing better to do on Saturday, and I'm willing to shell out money for this ever-so-important film.
However, you should know by now that Disney has already gutted out its Feature Animation department - you have read this article, haven't you? Disney is barreling ahead with the CG thing, burning a lot of bridges as they go. And I've read accounts from a few insiders that even if Brother Bear and/or Home on the Range are huge hits, that won't deter the execs one bit with their current plans. The most we can hope for is a return of the cel after the bow of Angel and Her No Good Sister, Chicken Little, Rapunzel Unbraided, Valiant, the mess of CG segments in the next Fantasia, and possibly The Snow Queen project, not to mention the juggernaut of Pixar productions.
As for me, I'm willing to support Brother Bear and Home on the Range, but I'm also willing to sit back and let Disney shoot itself in the foot again. They had similar grandiose plans for CG with The Secret Lab and the long, expensive production of DINOSAUR. They thought that would take off for sure. And look what happened to that genius idea. I'm sure that these new-and-improved CG features that Disney's producing won't be any better than their current cel-animated ones. At least a couple of them will likely get tepid responses, and I'd love to see what Disney does then. They'll probably shrug it off initially and keep making CG stuff. But if the bombs keep accumulating, I really wonder how they'll handle that - seeing as they'll have backed themselves into a corner by that point.

I had some vague plans at the time of theatrical release to watch BB, but it never happened. Finally, I caught the movie on DVD. I must say I was dissapointed. Looked good and interesting at the start, but became a rather dull story in the middle. That's a shame, for the animation is very good.
I may watch it again once to see if I like it better the second time, but I'm not buying it for my collection, I think.
Am I the only one who thought there was to little story in BB to hold the attention?
By the way, I was not bothered at all by the so-called 'new-age' elements (as some narrow-minded critics were). Reminds me of some of the critisism of Pocahontas which was naturally about old-age belief too!
