Favourite Theme Park Song

Post by Loomis »

Just wondering if anybody has a favourite theme park song that they just can't get out of their heads?

I don't mean the existing tunes from films heard around the park, but rather the songs that appear just in the attractions and rides.

I won't make this a poll, because there so many and quite a few I'm not familiar with.

For my money, I can't get the theme from The Enchanted Tiki Room out of my head.

My favorite would be a tie between Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life For Me) from the Pirates of the Caribbean, and Grim, Grinning Ghost from The Haunted Mansion. I also like the The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room from The Enchanted Tiki Room. Those three songs pop into my head often.

Share a Dream Come True always gets to me, as does Wishes, and the entire hourlong bgm at Fantasyland. Whenever I ran Fan Nut, I never bothered checking the time, I'd know what time it was based on what song was playing...

I think though, my absolute favorite Parks-only theme song would have to be a tie between We Go On and the music on Spaceship Earth.

Wow! That's really hard! There are quite a few AWESOME Disney theme park songs!

But for me, it would probably be There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow from Carousel of Progress. Such a nice and fun little song! :)

Hmmm...I like the Cinderellas Surprise Celebration musical show,
WISHES, Spectromagic, We Go On, SPlash Mtn Medley, Star Turn (@ Space Mtn), One Little Spark, FANTASMIC theme, & the Castle Medley @ Cinderellla Castle & sometimes plays outside the main gates.

I could list them on & on....but these by far are in my favs list.

Some of my favorites:

-It's a Small World
-Wishes
-Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirate's Life for Me
-There's a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow
-Hooray for Hollywood (the version they play at park opening in MGM)

And some favorite scores:
-Fantasmic!
-Main Street Electrical Parade
-Spectromagic
-Beauty and the Bees
-Impressions de France

But some of my favorite theme park music is just the area music they play as you walk through the various parks and lands.

my daughter wll sing "Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki" over and over sometimes out of the blue and it makes me grin.

but just the other day randomly she sang "yo ho yo ho yo ho" - quite shock and an accomplishment for a ride she's never been on!

For me, it would have to be Baroque Hoedown, the theme song to Disneyland's "Main Street Electrical Parade", now known as Disney Calfornia Adventure's "Electrical Parade".

My favorites are medlies and other stuff

~ The Welcome Medley at Magic Kingdom. Hehe, the beginning sounds like something from Whoville (Welcome, welcome, welcome!)
~ The Princess Medley in Cinderella's Surprise Celebration (So This is Love, Someday My Prince Will Come, Beauty and the Beast)
~ The Bubbles Medley from Fantasmic and the theme
~ Makin' Memories from Epcot
~ Magic Journeys - I used to think this was such a bizarre song, but now it's one of my favorites!
~ It's Tough to be a Bug!! ( aaaaaaa...We're pollenators!! We're pollenators!! If you like vegetables, fresh fruit, and flowers, give thanks to us bugs for our marvelous powers!!)

Aaron, the scores you picked are indeed quite fantastic!

Well, it's not a song exactly... I'd have to go with the Illuminations: Reflections of Earth score. To be honest, no classic score, no movie score has ever reached the level of excitement this score brings to me. And to top it off, it's in synch with my favourite Disney show, so there ya have it! :P

I'm going to read the thread and I'm sure lots more will come to mind; heck, I know I have more than one...but I'm going with my gut instincts before I read the other responses.

In no particular order...

~The Main Street Electrical Parade ("Baroque Hoedown"...and yes, I know it's Disney's Electrical Parade now, but I'm exercising my right to be nostalgic!)

~Fantasmic! (particularly the Disneyland version, largely on account of the Peter Pan scene)

~One Little Spark- Journey Into Imagination, EPCOT Center (Not the current Nigel Channing/Figment one at present day Epcot...the old school Dreamfinder/ Figment one they never should have gotten rid of in the first place...there's that nostalgia again)

~IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth/We Go On...Epcot

~Promise...the post-IllumiNations song at Epcot

Ooh, yay, somebody else picked this! :D You know it's exciting stuff when you hear it on average of 5 times a week for about 7 and a half months, and it fails to lose any of the excitement.

My favorite park is Epcot and part of the reason is the awesome music heard throughout the park. My absolute favorite park song is the current futureworld music. It just captures the esence of Epcot so well and I can never get it out of my head. Next would be the amazing score written for The Universe of Energy. The original song was good, too, but I love that music. I wish they would put both of these songs on official park albums. I, of course, love all of the more mainstream park songs (Spectromagic, Grimm Grinning Ghosts, etc...), but these are my two favorite songs in all of WDW.

"The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room" and "it's a small world"

I think i'm the only one of my friends who can stand to listen to small world over and over and not get totally annoyed.

Surely something from EPCOT's heyday. I have this one cassette soundtrack of the parks that I'm always raving about, because it is from the late 80s or early 90s, so it has all the great EPCOT songs with their creepy futurist feel to them. I don't know which is my fave, but it could be any of those, even "Universe of Energy," though I never liked the original attraction.
