Future of DCOM DVDs?

Post by Spottedfeather »

I was just wondering something. I've looked and looked but have been unable to find any information about the future of the DCOMs on dvd. A few of the movie have come out in the past couple of years ; Cheetah Girls, the Halloweentown movies, The Even Stevens movie, The Proud Family movie, etc. But not the ones (other than the Halloweentown movies...which I bought) that I'd like. Anybody hear anything about Stuck In The Suburbs (I'm a huge fan of Danielle Panabaker), Quints (I'm absolutely sick for Kimberly J. Brown. I have a website about her, her picture(s) are the background on my computer, and I have almost all of her movie on dvd/tape, even My Sister's Keeper, of which Miss Brown was only in the first fifteen minutes.), and the three Zenon movies ? These are among my favourite movies of all times and I would love to have them on dvd.
Think about this. Once bread becomes toast, you can't make it back into bread.

As, of now, none of us really know. However, Disney has a little intro to the commercials for their DCOMs on DVD, this could somewhat indicate that they plan to release more. If I had to guess, I'd say their probably looking to release Zenon, and probably in a Halloweentown-esq style.

I think before they release the DCOM on DVD, they need to start releasing the WWOD movies. These movies were 100 times better than the crap they are putting on The Disney Channel today.

Must agree that the WWoD movies are traditionally much better than the Disney Channel movies, with a few exceptions. It's especially puzzling why we haven't seen more of the 1997-Present WWoD movies that were released on VHS, things like The Love Bug, Beverly Hills Family Robinson, My Date with the President's Daughter, and my personal favorite, Principal Takes a Holiday. I wonder if those are likely to be DMC-exclusives if/when they finally come to DVD. Not to mention all the good stuff from the '70s and '80s.

Whatever happened to the WWoD? It used to be on ABC and play great old Disney films and classics. Is it seasonal or what?

I did like the WWoD movies; the only one that i would go and buy day of release would be "H-E-Double Hockey Sticks" I loved that movie!

DCOMs are freaking awesome! I wish that Disney would release more of them on DVD, but not if they are gonna be as crappy as the Halloweentown releases. They really pissed me off. They could at least try.......
We need season sets of all DCOSs and all DCOMs on DVD! And Better Cover Art!

Hey guys! How you all been?! I just watched The Even Stevens Movie with commentary and was wondering if any of the DCOM are have been rumoured to be coming to DVD soon? Or any Disney Channel TV shows like a Raven release or a Phil or Suite Life release? In any case, I hope that Even Stevens season sets make their way to DVD soon. And hopefully Lizzie McGuire S2, but that would be dreaming a bit too much.
At least Darkwing Duck is coming to DVD soon, it's a good sign for much Disney TV, like Winnie The Pooh, etc.

ABC Cancelled WWoD at the end of the 2004-2005 Season due to low ratings. (movies avg. about 4-5m viewers). Not that it makes a diff. now, thier Sat. Movie of the Week does worse.

The Only one they have shown this season was a holdover from last year- ONCE UPON A MATTRESS - they showed that in December right before Christmas.

Hope that Answers your Question BambiFan.

Also if you look in the archives at www.Zap2it.com you may find some additional info. on it.

News on more Disney Channel DVDs has arrived-
High School Musical - June 13th along with Dumbo- Special Edition
Leroy and Stitch (Conclusion of Lilo and Stitch: the Series) -June 27th
Kim Possible and Jojo's Circus DVDs -2006

This is great news! This means that High School Musical will be on DVD when the second and third installments air next year and the year after. Leroy and Stitch will hopefully include some great bonus features- maybe a commentary, a featurette, a music video, a game and info on more Lilo and Stitch the Series releases! I hope that the Kim Possible release/s have either new episodes of the 2006 season (4th season) or a season set. Highly doubt it though. It'll be good to get more Jojo's Circus on DVD, but I'd rather Stanley or Bear in the Big Blue House.
My wish list for things to be released this year (well, I've only included probable things) are The Cheetah Girls 2, Even Stevens- Season 1, and That's So Raven- Season 1- in conjunction with the 100th episode- for behind the scenes piccies go to Raven4Eternity.com. (I don't think that we'll get the first season before we get another compilation release. Hopefully the second season will get released soon after that, with the third season released when the theatrical movie is released in the Summer of next year, and the final season released when the movie is released to DVD.) I also want as many Disney Channel season sets as they can do. If not , then I guess that compilations would be all right. If they were to make a compilation release, I'd want a Disney Channel Animated Series release with things like Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, Dave the Barbarian, The Buzz on Maggie, American Dragon: Jake Long, and The Emperor's New School. Oh yeah, and a Suite Life of Zach and Cody starter compilation, maybe one for Hannah Montana, one for Stevie Sanchez, if Catbot is out then, then yes, and a complete series set for poor old Phil. And obviously the remainder of Lizzie McGuire is desperately needed on DVD. The Proud Family is too. Sorry, I'm just rambling on now! I'll leave now........................Bye!
