Can I ask a really dumb question about WDW?

Post by Just Myself »

Hey guys, JM here from The Happiest Place on Earth, Walt Disney World. I know the main reason to come here is for the attractions and such (doing Expedition Everest tomorrow; will report unless the whiplash makes me numb), but I have an old question: Is this anywhere in any of the parks where you can buy regular Disney movies on VHS or DVD? As some of you know, I have this weird obsession with buying new films on VHS, and I was wondering if there was a place to buy Sky High on VHS other than through disneyvideos.com's phonenumber. As usual, any help is appreciated.

Smile, this is a happy place,
Chris M.B. (or Just Myself(or Secret Disney Man))

Your best bet will probably be the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. They have some VHS, if I recall, but mostly DVD. You can check Disney hotel gift shops too, but again, there's more DVD now than anything else. Also, you could try the bookstore in MGM (turn left at the Great Movie Ride and as you walk towards Star Tours, it's there on the corner before you get to Big City Street).

Well here's my report of things that happened today....

As planned, me and the family got up 'bright and early'(around 10:45, ;) ) got some breakfast real quick at the hotel food court and headed for the next bus to Animal Kingdom. After watching It's Tough To Be a Bug and riding Dinosaur and the Primeval Whirl, we headed for Expedition Everest. Since my dad was in a wheelchair, we expected that like all the other rides, we'd zoom past the crowd and their 80 minute wait time. Wrong. We had to wait with the crowd. But atleast the wait timer was wrong: we only waited 75 minutes. ;) But holy hell, it was worth it. They didn't have the ride camera working yet, but who the hell cares? I got face first to the Yeti! :P

After that, we did a few other rides and attractions and headed over to EPCOT. We did Spaceship Earth, Soarin' (not really a ride but a dangling attraction, it was still really cool and will definitely come back), Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Test Track ('m such a speed freak, I went on three times ;) ) and Mission: Space (again, not really a real but a moving attraction; also again, loved it and will definitely go back). Sadly, around the time when we were going to start the World Showcase, my mom got sick and we had to go back to the hotel. Unless she's feeling better in the morning, we're gonna have to go home. Not knowing when the next time we'll actually come back is, even with the Season Passes, it's very possible that by the time we come back, if they even sold it in the first place, they wouldn't carry the movie on VHS anymore. I know this sounds real dumb, but does anyone know of any websites where they might sell it other than disneyvideos.com? thnaks in advance

Arrivederci(sp?)
JM

In downtown Disney, go inside the Mattel world of Toy's store. Walk all the way to the back. There is a room with every Disney DVD currently available. If it's not on the shelves, they have it in the back. I do believe they also have VHS's I would go there if I were you.

Well unfortunately we had to leave this morning. We probably won't be back for a few months, so if anyone sees it on VHS I would gladly pay for them to buy it for me. :)
