My First Trip to Disney World - 1994

Post by musicradio77 »

I know all you Disney fans would remember my favorite memories. Let's flashback to July 3rd, 1994. We went to Disney World for the first time ever, We went to the Magic Kingdom and had breakfast in the Cinderella Castle, we walked around and met so many characters for example Cinderella, Snow White and couple others. We went to Frontierland and browse around in stores and then walked around Main Street and went to the ride called the "It's a Small World". I've been there twice and I had a great time. I have this VHS home movie of my first trip to Disney World is in my collection. So I ended putting it on DVD for actual viewing. It was from one of my stepdad's camcorder that he used to have. On that festive night, I was standing next to Main Street and I saw the "Spectramagic" parade, it has lights similar to the "Main Street Electrical Parade" at Disneyland. Afterwards comes the fireworks where it was then called "Fantasy in the Sky". And then, the next day, I was on the railroad ride when we rode around the park and then ended up on the Main Street Station and then I saw the parade called "Mickey Mania". I was standing next to the castle enterance watching the parade. I was staying at Disney World right up until the fireworks started where I saw another one again for July 4th. There were fireworks around Main Street and even on Epcot. I didn't go to Epcot since I prefer the Magic Kingdom. And that was it. My first experience of going to Disney World back in 1994. I was 15 since my family went there and we had a great time. I have the DVD copied from a VHS tape, but I will have to post some pics later if we have more time. Any thoughts about my first trip to Disney World, please share your thoughts. Thanks!

Kind of hard for us to remember your memories, unless of course we were assimilated by the Borg...

Anyways, nice to see you had fun on your first trip! And the pictures were definitely a "flashback" of sorts for me. I used to watch Spectro nearly every night and it was perhaps the best part of working a closing shift on Main Street or Frontierland. 20 minutes without a guest coming up asking for popcorn! :D

Thanks! This was from my VHS collection converted into a DVD-R copy so I ended up using my Movie Maker to make pics from my family's home movies. It was a flashback from 12 years ago where my family including my mother, my stepdad and my brother along with my uncle all went to Disney World and had a great time. I will post some more pics later. ;)

Bump!

If you want to see the video of my first trip to Disney World back in 1994 including me, I will upload this clip from YouTube. This is a 3-part clip including the Spectramagic, Fantasy In the Sky (pre-Wishes!), Mickey Mania and the "It's a Small World" ride including my mom, my stepdad and my family. It should take a while to get this thing uploaded. Will see what happens if it comes up on YouTube.

The video file that I posted on YouTube is too big. So I decided to pair it down because the video clip is 100 MB per file. I separate this file into six parts. Here are the first three clips from my first trip to Disney World back in 1994. The first two clips will be "Spectramagic" and then the third clip is "Fantasy In The Sky" with lots of fireworks. What a show! Back then they did well at Disneyland. According to the third clip, both Disneyland and Disney World doesn't do a "Fantasy In The Sky" fireworks anymore. It's now "Wishes!" at Disney World and "Remember, Dreams Come True" at Disneyland. Those were two great fireworks shows at different parks. The forth one one is the view of the Disney attractions and the ride on the railroad leads to Main Street Station. It includes me, my mother, my stepdad, my uncle and my aunt are all part of my first Disney trip. Part 5 has portions from the "Mickey Mania" parade at Disney World. It was a great show, the show leads to part 6 of "It's A Small World (After All)" ride. Enjoy!

haha. I remember seeing Mickey Mania Parade during an XMAS parade when it first came out...
thank goodness we have SADCT, MJJP, and DSAMC now...

I do however, miss TON! the soundtrack rules. Sometimes I listen to it when I'm on the tread- it passes the time by.

Does anyone remember "Every Days a Holiday" and "Disney Mania" stage shows? I LOVED them both- but they are nothing compared to Cinderellas Surprise Celebration! Right now its Cinderellabration...which honestly, i wasnt very impressed with. But once the 50th Homecoming is over, it'll be back to CSC! Wicked YAY!

*sob* I miss watching Share A Dream Come True every day! It always meant I had a 20 minute break if I was ever on a stand on the parade route!

I know! I actually found some respect for Disney Princesses after watching CSC enough times...and of course I lost my respect after having to watch Cinderellabration enough times.

Has that ever happened before? Retiring a show, then bringing it back? I know that early in Disneyland, they had MSEP for a couple years, retired it, then brought it back (only to retire it in...1997?).

I dunno....this is the first I've heard. CSC hasnt been around all too long before the homecoming started. That show has amazing reviews anyways- ive seen grown fathers cry watching CSC...but honestly- as cute as Cinderellabration is...its totally focused for the young set-mainly little girls-

where CSC actually is great for all ages- especially w/ the mix of all the different characters all on the same stage-something/or a character for everyone whether u like mickey & gang, or the princesses, or the heros, or the villians and the different sequences- surprise, love, laughter, bad apples, courage, & friendship... (oh, i love this show-haha)
...unlike Cinderellabration where its all princesses... no mickey, no heros, no villians, JUST Princesses/Princes. I'm not trashing the new show-it really is cute- but if u have seen CSC & then see Cinderellabration- its just not the same or as entertaining.

I guess it's like bringing back SpectroMagic after its been gone for a few years...? I dunno.
