Lion King II

Post by brewc »

In all the goings on about Lion King coming in October, has any of you guys read or heard of LK 2 getting re-released? On the verge of making a deal for a sealed copy giving up 6 dvds I have no interest in anymore and if it's coming I'm sorta thinking hold off.

I'd hold off. Nothing official has been stated or even suggested by Disney, but this title has been off the marketplace for years, and if there was ever a time when Disney was hoping to get the most sales from this, I think it'd most likely be this fall, sandwiched between the Platinum Lion King DVD and the 1 1/2 Hakuna Matata DTV feature.

I'd be pretty surprised if it doesn't resurface then.

I have to admit. I have a soft spot of LK2.
I usually run from the sequels, but I am caught in that weird nexus (i.e. don't like the DTV sequels, but must own everything that has the words 'Disney DVD' on it...).
If LK2 is re-released, will probably buy it though. As I said, I have a soft spot and I am a contradictory kinda guy.

"The Lion King 1 1/2" is now scheduled for sometime in the first third of 2004.

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney mirror their "Belle Collection" schedule for the Lion King sequels with Lion King II being released closer to Christmas and "Lion King 1 1/2" released round about March 2004 (echoing the release of "Belle's Magical World" this year).

But it's only speculation on my part (and a whole lot of other interested parties as well :))
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
