When does Disney plan to rerelease a DVD?
is it true that disney has a set time that they will rerelease a dvd? if so, when is it? will dvds that are already special editions, like sleeping beauty, be rereleased?
Do you think it would be better to purchase the overpriced, possibly bootlegged out of print dvds now or wait for them to be rereleased?

No, I would wait. If you are desperate to see the movie, rent it.princesssnowbunny wrote:Do you think it would be better to purchase the overpriced, possibly bootlegged out of print dvds now or wait for them to be rereleased?

Well, with patience you can build a nice collection. There are certain titles that will be re-released, but I think there are others that will not.

I have the dates for all the Disney Classic re-releases.
They are all confirmed & used as a stepping stone for the new
DisneyDVD/Blu-ray revolution.
They are as follows,
The Jungle Book - March 2007
101 Dalmations - October 2007
Pinocchio - March 2008
( Blu-ray exclusive starting 2008 ) :
Snow White - October 2008
Peter Pan - March 2009
Beauty & The Beast - October 2009
Sleeping Beauty - March 2010
The Lion King - October 2010
Fantasia - March 2011
Aladdin - October 2011
Bambi - March 2012
Cinderella - October 2012
Lady & The Tramp & The Little Mermaid are not listed, though expected
to follow in the same manner.
I don't know why Disney is going to re-release movies originally created for 1.37:1 or 1.33:1 on Blu-ray (such as Peter Pan and Snow White), when Blu-ray and HDTV are designed for widescreen in general. It makes sense for the Disney movies created in 1.66:1, 1.85:1, 2.35:1, and 2.55:1 widescreen, though.

That doesn't make much sense. When 16x9 TVs become the norm, are we supposed to just stop watching Academy Ratio film? Blu-ray's greatest appeal right now is a vast increase in resolution. That increase entails an upgrade for everything that can benefit from that, regardless of it was animated for 1.37:1 or 2.55:1.azul017 wrote:I don't know why Disney is going to re-release movies originally created for 1.37:1 or 1.33:1 on Blu-ray (such as Peter Pan and Snow White), when Blu-ray and HDTV are designed for widescreen in general. You seem pretty fixated with that word as of late...reyquila wrote:What about this reason: money!!azul017 wrote:I don't know why Disney is going to re-release movies originally created for 1.37:1 or 1.33:1 on Blu-ray (such as Peter Pan and Snow White), when Blu-ray and HDTV are designed for widescreen in general.
