Hmmm, well let's see...
Epcot: Favorite rides are "Test Track"and "Honey I shrunk the Audience." Test Track has great theming and atmosphere and is an exhillerating ride. If you liked the "Honey I shrunk the Kids" films you will love this. Scary, imaginative and fun. I REALLY want to ride the all new Mission Space, which will most likely become another favorite.
I like to always ride Spaceship Earth first, its at the beginning of the park and also sets the whole tone for the day.
Magic Kingdom: Pirates of the Carribean and the Haunted Mansion. Both are what I consider original Walt inspired rides and have a lot of cool effects and animatronics. ***UPDATE***Let me add Splash Mountain as well! Very cool ride filled with lots of fun animatronics! I also like the Hall of Presidents.***
Disney MGM Studios: Star Tours, since I am a huge SW fan! Also, Aerosmith Rock n' Rollercoaster and Twillight Zone Tower of Terror. As soon as the Aerosmith pre show ends and the music kicks in, I'm ready for this ride! Twillight Zone was one of my all time favorite shows and the ride has great effects and is tons of fun.
I like to ride the Great Movie Ride when I first enter the park, it sets the mood for the day.
Animal Kingdom: It's Tough to be a Bug is an incredble, can't miss 3-D show! The Dinosaur ride is pretty incredible too, dark, fast and fun. With dinosaurs you really can't go wrong! AK is my least fav park, its still cool and the Kilamanjaro Safaris is worth checking out. I think the park will be bumped up a bit when they are finished with Expedition Everest.
Downtown Disney: Once Upon a Toy and the world's largest Disney store are always must sees for me. I also like to go into DisneyQuest and the Lego store. The Adventurer's Club is one place I really want to check out on my next trip.

Thanks Maerj for that info actually...
It is entirely possible I'm going over to LA next year, and I'll only have a limited amount of time, so I'm glad to know which things to see and not to
Can't wait...

Loomis, those comments were about DisneyWORLD ... in Orlando, Florida.
Going to LA, you need the "Favorite Walt DisneyLAND Ride" thread
As for my favorite ride, well, been a few years since I went there myself. Come to think of it, Ronald Reagan was still calling the shots at the time. Anyway, my favorite ride then was Space Mountain, but that's probably not even there anymore.

Star Tours is severely outdated compared to other rides of its kind. Virtual rides don't age as gracefully as the classic "dark" rides such as Haunted Mansion. Back to the Future at Universal holds up better than Star Tours and its pretty old too. I rode Star Tours last January and it was just really dull. What needs to be done is a complete remake of it with updated visuals and actual special effects.BasilOfBakerStreet427 wrote:Star Tours.Great 3-D,and it's associated with Star Wars. You ever heard the urban legend about the girl who died on Body Wars.
Here are some of my favorite things in Disney World.
1. Splash Mountain
2. Tower of Terror
3. Test Track
4. Rock n Roller Coaster
5. Haunted Mansion
6. Pirates
7. Test Track
8. Spaceship Earth
9. Dinosaur
10. Fantasmic
11. Pleasure Island: 4 Long Island Ice Teas and 3 Long Island Jello shots consumed in about 90 minutes will screw you up bad
If you're old enough, Pleasure Island is one of the most fun things to do at Disney.
12. La Nouba: Best Cirque show I've ever seen, including Mystere, Alegria, and O. Those 3 chinese girls with those swinging ball things are absolutely amazing.

Yeah it could use an update, but that takes a lot of time and money. Still its a fun ride and if you are a Star Wars fan its a must do. It was also the first simulator ride of its kind. In time I am sure they will do an update. Besides, this is a thread about favorite rides and this is one of this guy's favorites and that's all that matters. Someone told me his favorite ride was 'Its a Small World' which surprised me, but that's what is cool about WDW, there is something there for everyone.rnrlesnar wrote:Star Tours is severely outdated compared to other rides of its kind. Right you are!
Eh...it seems like so much effort getting out of bed in the mornings. I think Disneyland might be a bit ambitious now...

These are my favorite rides at WDW:
Snow White's Scary Adventures (Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland)
Peter Pan's Flight (Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland)
It's A Small World (Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland)
The Haunted Mansion (Magic Kingdom, Liberty Square)
Pirates Of The Carribean (Magic Kingdom, Adventureland)
Jungle Cruise (Magic Kingdom, Adventureland)
Journey Into Imagination (Epcot, Future World)
Great Movie Ride (MGM, Hollywood Boulevard)
Muppet Vision 3D (MGM, New York Street)
Studio Backlot Tour (MGM, Mickey Avenue)
I'm not sure what I prefer more though, the actual rides or just walking around and going into all the little shows and exposes, boutiques, restaurants and park attractions. There's so much to do at WDW and so much is always going on all around you. It's really such an enormous place and every park has it's own special little spots. Even just walking around Toon Town and checking out all the details on the miniature houses or walking into the salloons in Adventureland or the exposes at Liberty Square. Plus Main Street has a thousand boutiques and even a 3d movie theatre. I think I had more fun at night though, taking the fairy back from the showcases at Epcot after dinner and than walking around the boardwalk around 11:00 with friends, stopping into the bars and shops, arcades, etc.
To some degree, it depends on what resort you're staying at and who you're with because if you're in a convenient location, it makes a really huge difference on your overall trip. We stayed at the Beach Resort last time and it was great since we were all older (no kids) so we got to lounge around the pool area in the afternoons, and the pool at the Beach Club is like the next best thing to Blizzard Beach. It's a 2 and a half acre water playground with a sand bottom, waterfalls, 3 hot spas and an enormous waterslide which is attached to the broken mast of a shipwrecked pirate boat which twists through rock gorges into a seperate lagoon. It was so much fun. Plus we were right on the boardwalk so when the parks closed at night, we were right were all the action was. Attached to our hotel was also this 1950's styled malt shop where you could get ice creams, banana splits and milkshakes, etc and this old fashioned vintage styled arcade. We were walking distance from the pavillions at Epcot so we were able to take in all the rides before closing time and were usually the last ones in the park so we were all alone with no lines, etc. And there was an awesome ferry boat that took us to the Magic Kingdom and MGM where we spent at least 2-3 days taking in all the rides and going for dinner.
It's really all individual though, some people like the fast-paced rides like Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, etc. Some liek the more elaborate theme rides like Peter Pan or Haunted Mansion and some just like to take in the sights and attractions, go to the shows and parades and sample all the great food, etc. The only guarantee is that you'll definitely have an amazing time! Plan it out in advance though, otherwise you'll miss so much. The only place I've never been is the Animal Kingdom but I plan to spend an afternoon there next time I go. Make sure to spend at least 2 days in the Magic Kingdom, one full day at MGM and you can do Epcot at night or later in the afternoons cause the crowds are smaller and there aren't as many lines. If you want advice on restaurants and where to eat, I'd be happy to offer advice also..

My faves are:
MGM Studios
Rockin' Rollercoaster- has the best build-up ever, so nervewracking
Tower of Terror- Fun, i mean who doesn't like freefalling w/out dying
Fantasmic- best stage show in all of Disneydom
Animal Kingdom
Kali River Rapids- Good wet fun, especially in summer
Dinosaur- scary the first time, really fun after that
EPCOT
Test Track- fast, make sure you don't wear a hat or glasses
Spaceship Earth- Fun, I don't much like the upward slope part of it where you can see the other ride cabins, scary
Magic Kingdom
Haunted Mansion- not so scary stand-by fun though
Splash,Thunder,Space Mountain- Rollercoasters need I say more?
Pirates of the Carribean- I love the pirate atmosphere, the movies is much better than the ride though, i guess i'm comparing apples to oranges than so nevermind.
Hope that helps,
