102 Dalmatians

Post by Prince Adam »

Not to be confused with 101 Dalmatians: Patch's London Adventure, this is the sequel to the live-action remake of the ?1961? animated feature.

A lot of people hated this one, as it relied heavily on "slapstick" comedy (eg Alonzo's injuries and Cruella being being baked in a giant cake).

But as a watched it yesterday, I realized just how good it is. It serves its purpose: it really is a live-action cartoon. Some of the stuff done could only be done in cartoons, and who doesn't love a good puppy-movie?

What does everybody else think?

I hated it for taking out the original formula, and turned it into crap. That is an example of "Good Ideas Gone Bad".Submit others.Just don't say "Battlefield:Earth".I warn ya.

Glenn Close makes a superb Cruella.

It sound's stupid, but I think it was Oscar nomination worthy - simply because how would you play Cruella? Sometimes good acting is taking a part that is obviously 'unreal' an making it appear 'real' rather than just playing a drug-addict, disabled or suicidal character in a 'worthy' drama. I also feel Jim Carrey should have been nominated (or maybe even won) for playing the Grinch in the Grinch movie for the same reasons (even though I hate that movie).

102 had some good ideas - I liked the cured Cru(Ella) and the trigger of her decent back into madness. I liked her hallucination of a white and black spotted London and I liked Gérard Depardieu. But all in all the movie was a failure, because so much more could have been done, and once more they took the easy 'slapstick' option.

Actually, I kinda enjoyed it at well. Not as good as the first, but is any sequel as good as the first one?

i've got a niece or nephew on the way and when he/she gets old enough, and when they come to visit, I would show this movie to him/her.

yeah i saw 102 Dalmatians. iot was one of the good sequels i have seen in my life. but when i look at 101 Dalmatians 2 and the first episode of 101 Dalmatians the Series, one shows that Cruella isnt in prison when the Dearly's move to the farm and the other shows Cruella going to a jail at the end. which is the correct one?

101 Dalmatians (animated): Cruella does not go to jail, but just gets in a car crash.

101 Dalmatians: The Animated Series: Keeing with the original film, Cruella did not go to jail, but still lives in her mansion.

101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure: If I remember correctly, this one said Cruella went to jail, but was released. At least, Horace and Jasper did. But as everyone knows, ANIMATED CRUELLA DID NOT GO TO JAIL!!!!!!

101 Dalmatians (live-action): This one sent Cruella, Horace, Jasper, and Skinner to jail in the end.

102 Dalmatians: No Horace, Jasper, or Skinner, but Cruella was released on parole.

but I repeat: ANIMATED CRUELLA NEVER WENT TO JAIL!!!!! WATCH THE ORIGINAL FILM-SHE WAS JUST IN A CAR CRASH!!!!!!!!!
