I was just wondering. I know most of this site is for Disney but I was wondering if there are any of you here as well.
I was just watching My fav. (True Grit) and thought I'd ask.

Are Any of You John Wayne Fans?
The Duke is a favorite of mine. Actually he is the actor I have the most movies on DVDs which makes sense because I believe he owns the record of most leading roles. (Actually 11 came from a PD DVD set of his '30's "B" Westerns. I had never seen one and I wanted to so I thought for the $5.50 Wal-Mart Bin that this was a good way to see some.)
He is vastly underrated as an actor because most people assumed he only played hero roles (in which Red River disproved) In the right roles, he was fantastic and would dominate the screen.
I am dieing for The Searchers to come out as I have been putting off that purchase for a Special Edition.

The Duke is the best. I own every movie including his early 1930s westerns, and the only one I don't have in my collection is "The Green Berets". No special reason, but that is the only one I am lacking.
"The Searchers" is already out in as a special edition as it will get according to the higher-up mucky mucks at Warners. The DVD that is available is complete with two different documentaries, and a ton of Wayne trailers. And it is in Widescreen (although it is a 'flipper' disc).

The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!

My "god-father" was a huge fan of John Wayne and all he does is watching western movies starring John Wayne. Plus, he has a belt with John Wayne picture on it.
I wasn't a huge fan of John Wayne films, but "Hatari!" is definately my favorite because John Wayne knows when to capture wild animals in Africa and it's nothing western.

My two favorites of John Wayne's films are Mclintock! and Big Jake, both of which I have on DVD.
But, I like all of his films.
