When is the best time to go to Disneyland?

Post by summer85 »

Hi everybody I have a question. My aunt, uncle, cousin and me were supposed to go to Florida this Feb or March but we are going next winter instead. We are going to go to disneyland and i was wondering when the best time to go there is? I would be nice to go in the winter to escape the coldness and snow for 2 weeks.

It depends on what you're looking for. Disneyland around Christmastime has new decorations and great weather, but it is also extremely crowded.

If you want to miss the Christmas rush, I would recommend early November as a good time to visit the park.

There really is no bad time to go to Disneyland, but certain times of year offer differing advantages.

I think the best time to go is about a week after the Christmas rush. I went around January 8th & there were very little crowds compared to the one's in late spring. Another time to go is probably around mid-September, since all the kids are back in school.

I was there for Thanksgiving and I was told the best time to go was the week before Christmas. I was told this by many people while we were there. That there is no lines at all during this week.

I went there yesterday and boy was it empty! The longest wait of all the rides was 3 minutes. :) I think on a weekday, probably Wednesday since it's midweek, and around this time.

I'm just a little confused...Disneyland is in California; Walt Disney World is in Florida. Is it the Florida park you mean?

You are correct; the original poster was talking about the Florida parks.

I apologize for bringing up the CA parks, but the same advice will tend to apply.

Which is exactly why I asked.

I'd add that adults in the party might appreciate going during Epcot's annual International Food & Wine Festival; exact dates are not yet set for '96, but last year it ran about 6 weeks in October & November. Crowds are slack & weather is mild. Maple ale, New Zealand green lip mussels, Irish mead, pierogies...Ummy yummy.
