Two Platinums a Year??
I heard starting in 2004, Disney was going to release 2 platinums a year. Do you think this is true? I also heard they were going to add several more titles to the platinums so it would balance out how many that were going to be release. What do you think?

Re: Two Platinums a Year??
Yeah, we were all hoping it was going to start in 2004, as I believe that is what was indicated somewhere after Snow White was released. However, all signs now point to 2005 at the earliest as Aladdin sits on the schedule as the only PE for 2004.badboy2102 wrote:I heard starting in 2004, Disney was going to release 2 platinums a year. Unless Disney sneaks something else in on us or decides to move Aladdin up to March.

Nothing has been released yet.badboy2102 wrote:So Aladdin is set due for October '04? Do you have any artwork of the DVD and the cover?
But once it is out there rest assured it will be captured and presented here ASAP, probably sometime in June or July of '04 I would imagine.

Don't you think it's a bit early for that? I mean, cover art and specs for DVD's are usually released about 3 months before their release date, not a year...Heck, we just got specs and cover art for the Alice in Wonderland 2-disc and that comes out January. If the 3 month rule keeps applying next year, expect specs and cover art for Aladdin sometime in July, perhaps August.
Edit: Crap, there were no replies to badboy's post when I went into this thread.

I would love to see the art cover also from Aladdin.
In 2005 Cinderella in March and Little Mermaid in October.
In 2006 Bambi in March and Jungle Book in October.
In 2007 Lady and the Tramp in March and 101 Dalmations in October.
After 2008 and on they will relased Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, Fantasia and Pinocchio. Also the re-relased of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast and Lion King.

Well, I would guess that IF he does indeed have the proposed cover art he's probably bound by a Non-Disclosure from Disney Studios. No sense getting he and the site in trouble because some of us are a bit antsybadboy2102 wrote:Yah, if you have the cover for Aladdin. Why don't you share it with us.
