Glory Road

Post by Little Mermaid »

I saw Glory Road last Friday and I thought it was excellent. It was a feel-good movie. It was one of the best live action Disney films I've seen. I think that actor Josh Lucas and Jon Voight portrayed Coach Don Haskins and Coach Rupp very well.

I am taking my five kids to see this movie on Saturday.

a) they love going to the theater
b) I would rather give my money to Disney than anywhere else
c) there isn't really anything better out now anyway
d) they are all boys and sports nuts too!

It will be a good way for me to spend time with my kids. Otherwise, I would probably wait for the DVD to come out.

Looks like a good movie, but it's not my type of movie...so I'll probably just rent it.

Me and my boyfriend took our five kids to see this on Saturday. This was a pretty big investment for us, because we paid a total of $42.00 for admission, and $10.00 concessions (we all shared an unlimited refill large popcorn/large soda).

The movie theater was about 1/2 full. I found the beginning of the movie to be a little so/so....but the last half was fantastic! A real feel-good movie that provided a good basis to talk to the kids about racism on the way home. Near the end of the movie I had tears in my eyes (a rare occurrence for me at the movies). We highly recommend this movie!

Remember to stay through the credits because there is real footage of the actual players/coaches from this based-on-a-true-story event.

If you don't plan to see this in the theaters, it is definitely a good one to buy on DVD or rent, at the very least.

No, I wont go see this movie, because I'm sure next month another movie will come out just like it. Sports movies suffer from being too damn predictable.
Most sports movies nowadays use this formula:
Overcoming racism + having to raise enough money to go,+being the underdog+winning game as the clock gets to 00.00= BORING!!!
