Re: Disney movies
I don't disrespect Disney animation. I have all but 'Pluto' of the Disney Treasure cartoon volumes, plus Peter Pan, Alice, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Melody Time, Make Mine Music,....Lazario wrote:Sounds like you have some disrespect for animation. It does.C3PO wrote:Disney movies... are more than cartoons!Rank 'Top 10 Disney Animated Movies' if that's all you're going to include.
Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, Disney started with animated feature films, so even after all the live-action work they've accomplished, their legacy was made great first and foremost by the 'cartoons'. I feel live-action movies and computer generated movies should be included in at least 1 separate list. Which for me, is for another time.
I just think there's a lot of skewing toward the side of animation. I don't know if -- generally speaking -- there's a lack of exposure to live action, or else this audience just isn't wild about it. Is that called disrespect for live action, or simply personal taste?
There should be no need for a separate list, as 'movies' are both animation and live action.
My handmade paperweights, including Disney subjects -- some contain viewable movie cells!

Re: Disney movies
Maybe it's simply that most people who have all-animated lists just haven't seen as many or many great live action films. The world... may never know.C3PO wrote:I just think there's a lot of skewing toward the side of animation. I understand your point, but I've already explained how I feel about this. Of course no one should be limited to just naming one or the other in a list, but also no one should be expected to include any live action films if either they want them on a separate list or think 10 animated films exceed the live action ones. Basically, do what you want, because everyone else will anyway.C3PO wrote:There should be no need for a separate list, as 'movies' are both animation and live action.

Buffy: We have a marching jazz band?
Oz: Yeah, but, you know, since the best jazz is improvisational, we'd be going off in all directions, banging into floats... scary.

Updated #10 on my list!DisneyFan 2000 wrote:10. Lady and the Tramp - In my opinion, this is Walt's best classic. From the moment we see lady as a puppy, we know we're in for a treat. This movie has the most human story a animal movie could have. A relationship as old as time, as portrayed from a dog's point of view. On top of that we have some steller animation, and wonderful comic relief.
