I like TLK:2 and Stitch Has a Glitch, but the best one i've seen is TS2. I used to like Return of Jafar, but the last time i watched that, I realised it was pretty bad.

Isn't it the only sequel from Pixar? :P

I completely forgot to mention Fantasia 2000 and The Tigger Movie. I must have been spacy when I posted before. Both of these are fantastic movies and work well as stand-alone pieces.

Yes, I realized it. My bad.
Toy Story 2 is the only sequel from Pixar, but I wrote it too quickly as I was drying off from the shower last night. :P

They're all pretty good...

I look at this way, when it comes to the DTV sequels....
No, they're not as great as the originals, but they are still better than most of the crap out there today. I'd rather see on the Disney Toon Studios movies then most of the junk in the theatre right now!

The one I was most disapointed with was Atlantis: Milo Returns. Which isn't surprising since the original was not that great.

Beauty and the Beast Christmas, Lion King 1.5, Mulan II, Stitch The Movie were the better ones in my book.

I think some of them were definatly worth a theatrical release!
Although not sequels: Three Musketters and Once Upon A Christmas deserved a Theatrical Run!!

I am not a big fan of the sequels, but I can say that the best sequels for me are The Little Mermaid II and The Lion King II.

Beauty And The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas
The Rescuers Down Under

Ones I loved:

101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure This was very enjoyable and right within the spirit of the original! I liked how they kept it in England. It actually has some really funny moments! The voice acting is also very good, with Susan Blakeslee and Jason Alexander leading the group.
The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride Again, right in spirit with the original. An intruiging new villain. And the whole story with Kovu and his brother and sister is very good. It seems as if this is one of the only sequel that they actually had in mind while making the first one. The story is very good.
The Return of JafarI know this had its flaws, but it ties in with the first one well.

Ones That Were Okay:

The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea This was okay, However, it was extrememly similar to the first. Morgana is very unoriginal, a human/octopus woman, voiced by Pat Carrol, who wants to destroy King Triton, and take over the sea, veeery original. And Tip and Dash, also original, A short guy and a fat guy, the short guy has a blaring annoying voice, the fat guy has a gruffish voice, the short guy always makes fun of the fat guy for being fat, veeerrrry original.
Aladdin and the King of Theives I sort of have the same feeling of this as I do for RoJ, but this just is not as good for some reason, but still Okay.
Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas This story is darker than the norm, which is good. Tim Curry, as always, is great as Forte, and Bernidette Peters is very spunky. However, its inconsistency with the original is very unsettling.

The Ones I Hated

Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True
Do I even need to say anything?
Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamps Adventure Boooooooring.

I'm only gonna do DTV sequels

Some of my Favorites:

101 Dalmatians 2
Lilo and Stitch 2
Kronks New Groove
The Lion King 2
The Lion King 1 1/2
Aladdin sequels

Some that i found O.K.:

The Little Mermaid 2
Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas
Tarzan II
Mulan II

Some that i can kinda of tolorate:

Tarzan and Jane
Pocahontas II
Cinderella II

The Single Most Depressingly bad DTV sequel that i think i've seen from Disney:

The Hunchback of Notre Dame II- the ok story can't even save it from the horrible animation.

The others are definitely sequels.

The "2" in the title is a dead give-away.

Sequals

Post by NarniaDis »

I have watched almost all, and I have quiet a few but I have to say that my favorite is probably LATT2, although LK11/2 is a close second. The Worst? - probably Cinderella 2 although Mulan 2 wasn't that great either.

Peter Pan - RTNL was pretty good, though I only watched it twice.

Never really liked either of the Lion King sequals; Simba's Pride was OKAY... and while 1 1/2 was an honest effort to make a funny movie, it came up pretty short on my like-scale.

Both the Aladdin sequals I loved, and still love to this day.

B&TB Enchanted Christmas (Disney Villain brought this up), I think was a complete joke, and was inconsistant with the original. It really made no sense.

Toy Story 2 was one of the greatest sequals in film history. And I don't think that is an overstatement. For such a big movie to live up and go beyond the first one, is a great sign. TS2 deserves all the praise it gets.
