The Scariest Disney Theme Park Attraction

1. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (Disney Studios/California Adventure): I find that this has always been the most frightening attraction. I am deathly afraid of heights, and when those windows open and we plummit down, your eardrums will be gone, if you are sitting in the same elevator as me...

2. Mission: SPACE (Epcot): Oh, yeah..nothing like experiencing the sensation of wanting to throw your entire stomach out of your mouth, and having to keep your eyes open and on the screen two inches away from your face at all times. Oh, did I mention I'm claustrophobic? Smile!

3. Honey, I Shrunk the Audience! (Epcot): Oh, sure, it's a 3-D attraction, yeah, but, it was easily the most intense I've ever been on. I had to take off the glasses numerous times.. I was that terrified..snakes....*shudder*

4. Dinousaur (Disney's Animal Kingdom): Ahh..the cool wind in your hair..the carnivorous feriocity of a monster running behind me at full speed...ahh freedom.

I have a feeling when Expedition: EVEREST is released this will either be A.) #3 [right now, nothing besides Tower o' Terr can beat SPACE] or B.) #1. .....

1. It's A Small World: The dolls still haunts my dreams!

2. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror: Disney really went beyond themselves here in terms of fear. I knew a guy who said "Tower of Terror" was scarier than a free fall ride that was 24 ft. tall! Everything about it is much more frightning than the typical Disney ride, that's why I love it!

3. Indiana Jones: Temple of the Forbidden Eye: I love the big gigantic boulder that comes charging toward you!

4. Dinousaur: This probably holds the only time I was scared by a theme park attraction. I mean Tower of Terror and Indiana Jones are kinda scary and all, but it didn't scare ME. However Dinosaur made me jump. I mean I knew there was going to be a Dinosaur that would try to scare you, I just didn't expect him to be so loud! A great ride!

5. Test Track: In which was scary because I waited more than 20 minutes in line(with the fastpass) and then after I came off the ride, I saw I spent a half-hour on a disappointing ride!

I suppose that partly depends on what you mean by 'scary'. My girlfriend absolutely HATED the Sun Wheel (DCA), because of the height and the unsettling swinging motion. It is an uncomfortable ride that can really freak you out if you are not expecting the 'detached' feeling. Even I was feeling unconfortable on it, simply because there was nothing to hold on to.

However, more traditionally scary rides:

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (I've only been on DCA): Will have to agree with everybody else on this one. The atmosphere created at the start with the lobby, short film and basement really set the mood. The effects are fantastic and you completely buy into the world. When the elevator drops, you might know in your brain that it isn't real, but your body doesn't know the difference. A perfect example of a "thrill-ride" that will scare the pants off some.

Indiana Jones: Temple of the Forbidden Eye: I'm not just copying! This is a fantastic thrill ride! I didn't find it scary so much as exciting, but there were moments of surprise and shock, even when I rode it a second time. I think this is possibly the best ride in the Park.

There are elements to Pirate of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion that are 'spooky', but they are all in good fun. Younger guests may actually find them quite frightening.

Finally, Mad Tea Party: my world hasn't stopped spinning since. Plus, I have an unnatural fear of giant tea-cups.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror: I rode it during my first WDW trip in 1996. It's the only ride I refuse to ever go on again. Since I had a slight fear of elevators to begin with, I probably should have never rode it at all. I will not even get on a regular elevator anymore if stairs are available.

The first time I went on it way back when it just open I was very frighten and for some strange reason I still go back on this ride. I'm totally afraid of heights and when you could look down I even get scarier.

Indiana Jones: Temple of the Forbidden Eye:

I guess I'm scared of this ride because it goes too fast and it's very dark.
Other then that it's an okay ride but it backlashes too much.

Hey, come on I was like 7 when I first saw Captain EO and it was scary like hell. No, I wasn't scared of Michael Jackson at the time he wasn't playing with kids but the Evil Queen was scary!!!

I guess I'm scared of this ride because I was afraid of heights and still am.

Anyways, scariest attractions in WDW (imo...)

Tower of Terror: yeah, after the third time & still not liking it...that was enough for me.

(Dark Attraction) Extra TERRORestrial Alien Encounter: True it's dark now...but that attraction used to make me jump in my seat.

Dinosaur: Yeah, I know the Carnitaurus is there...but he always scares me towards the end when he's coming right at you!!!

Now that I am older, it is difficult for me to see any Disney attractions sscary except...

Dinosaur! Man I hadn't ridden it in a long time and then I rode it again and forgot how dark and scary it could be! It was hard to remember when the scary dinosaur would come around the corner and the ride certainly is very very very very scary when you're not expecting him. The part when he's running next to your ride vehicle is one of the scariest and real effects I've ever seen! That ride really plunges you into the end of the Dinosaur era and it is very frightening. Lol, during my senior trip, we made this two of my friends' first experiences with Disney attractions. Mwahahaha!

Oh yeah, that's true! When I was little I was terrified of the Pirates. One of the Sing-a-long songs videos had "Yo Ho! Yo Ho! A Pirate's Life for Me" and featured the ride. Naturally, I wouldn't want to go on the real thing. I was crying so much because I didn't want to go in, but my parents made me anyway. I shut my ears and eyes for the first half.

The Haunted Mansion at WDW, I wasn't really terrified for some reason. My first time through I was only 4 and I don't remember being scared. Though when I went when I was 12 we went to DL and my leg was trembling the whole way through like the graveyard caretaker "Frank Bryce" guy.

Snow White's Scary Adventures is probably the most scary of all the Disney attractions for a little kid. You're plunged into Snow White's world and one of Disney's scariest villains is popping out of you through most of the ride. This was another one in which I had my eyes and ears shut tight.

Anyways, here's my scariest rides:

Tower of Terror - everyone who knows me knows I refuse to do this ride again, and Kram definitely knows never to hold my hand if on this ride. I was scared sh!tless on this drop ride. It's not that I'm afraid of heights...just dropping from them in an elevator.

Snow White's Scary Adventures - a headscratcher, but one night while I was walking the parks on a day off, I decided to get in line for Snow White, and there was a family ahead of me, with a four year old and a two year old. The parents weren't sure if they should ride it or not (what with the word "scary" in there), so the castmember at the controls said "Why don't you test ride it and see?" and since they didn't wanna send a car with just one person, I went in with the mother, and we rode it, analyzing if it was scary or not. It is.

Dinosaur - A really thrilling ride, but they make those dinosaurs so damn lifelike that when it comes at you from the sides and at the end...yeah, scariness...

Alien Encounter - the very first time you ride it, you're practically crying. But once you do it multiple times, it's a rather campy ride that you enjoy laughing at. But the first experience is always terrifying.

To me, Tower Of Terror (DCA) isn't scary, but pure fun! I HATE heights, and I refuse to ever again go on Drop Zone at Paramount's King's Island, but I just loved Tower Of Terror. I went on it for my first time on monday (the 19th) when my best friend and I went to Disneyland/California Adventure for 4 days for a late 21st birthday celebration. I think we went on that ride like 2-3 times per day. It's scary in the front, and you feel like you are lifting out of your seat, but that's what made it fun to me.

But scary, is Snow White's Scary Adventures. That ride still gives me the creeps. I think it's the evil queen dressed as an old hag that gets me.

Indiana Jones - Kinda creepy. I've gotten stuck on that ride in the pitch-dark, so I still get jitters when we get near thaty spot. But when it was dark and the car stopped, they still had the music on, so I was freaked because you hear mice and spiders and such.

When I was little, I used to be deathly afraid of Space Mountain because one time, while in line, the ride broke down and they had to turn on the inside lights and you got to see how close the tracks were together and i was always afraid that when I was taller, that I would hit my head on the tracks above, or get my arm cut off if I had my hands up.
But now, wow. Ever since they re-did it, it's sooo much better. Plus it's darker, so you can't see how close everything really is, plus it's much faster.

Yeah, Snow White's Scary Adventure is scary. I freaked out when the Queen turned around and it was the witch, about a half and inch away from me. The Beggining where you see Snow White cleaning the steps while the Queen looks out of the window is a little creepy, and it only gets scarier!

Hands down, the most psycologicaly scary attraction must be Dinosaur. The darkness, the tension, the speed. And above all; the loud noises. It all makes for a totally freaky experience. Other rides scare you before you go on them, but this one is truely scary the whole way through.

Haunted Mansion was pretty creepy. Though I never rode any huge rollercoasters or anything in Disneyland. I'm a loser.

Tower of Terror: I am a HUGE rollar coaster fan... i love the thrills and everything

tower of terroe though REALLY SCARED me...It scared me not because of the sets and all that it was when u didnt know when you were gonna fall...its also creepy hearing those ppl screaming when your waiting on line.

Also, when I was small I was scared of that elevator in the Haunted Mansion.

I've only been frightened once by an attraction at WDW--on Snow White's Adventure. I was 10 or 11 at the time, hadn't ridden it in ages, thought "it's in Fantasyland, how bad can it be?" Worse than I remembered, to be sure. They've toned it down since, but the hurtling trip through the woods with all those creepy anthropomorphized trees...and that Queen/Hag popping up everywhere...<shudder>

The Sun Wheel at California Adventure can be a bit disconcerting at first, what with the rolling cages. You just don't expect the cages on a Ferris Wheel-type ride to do that. Don't really get scared, per se, on anything much at Disneyland. I actually find all the screaming that's done on Tower of Terror by riders to be quite entertaining.

Didn't really get scared by much of anything at WDW when I visited in 1997, but I did think that Alien Encounter was pretty darn lame and not at all scary, which was a big disappointment.

Hardly. But I agree with DW, it depends on if you think Steve Tyler is scary. If anything, Rock'n'Roller Coaster is one of the best thrill rides on the resort. Though it does get tiring if you ride it five times in a row during off-season when lines can be as short as 5 minutes...

Although I never got to experience it, I have seen video of it.

I don't think I've ever heard so many children crying & screaming in horror in a Disney theme park (unless you count DCA )
