Did anyone watch the new "Circle of Life" music video staring "The Circle of Friends" on disc 1? I was wondering what everyone thought of it. I'm not a big fan of teenage singers, but I might watch it. Disc 2 has Elton John's version of the "Circle of Life" featuring the "Circle of Friends."

I didn't get a chance to look at all the extras yet because I've been busy with school. I haven't had a chance to watch the whole move yet. :(

I got this on Monday, and I haven't had a really good chance to go through everything, but I've seen enough to make a few comments.

[sarcasm]Gee, aren't those menus logical and easy to navigate! Glad we had that helpful chart to guide us along![/sarcasm]

The first thing I noticed was the film version selection. I did not like the fact you had to go searching for the "original" version in the set up menu. At least Beauty & the Beast had the groovy signpost option to select which version of the movie you wanted to see.

The extras seem very fluffy. The most promising stuff is in the film/production/music menus, but that all seems cut short. I have also found that the 'play all' option doesn't quite play all, particularly with the film 'journey'. Didn't like the repetition of features either.

Virtual Safari. I know I'm not the target market, but pretty pissweak. And what was the point, apart from cross-promotion, of that third option (to the left) which said "Under construction - buy the two other movies". If there is room for that, there is room for an original trailer!

In the end, I AM happy to have a copy of the film, albeit not the orginal one. Haven't listened to the commentary yet, but I do look forward to hearing it. I also like having the music videos, that kinda thing floats my boat.

In the end, I have to agree with many comments here. Not the disaster we imagined, but far from Disney's best. The whole thing stunk of self-promotion, half the time for a disc we had already bought, the other half for the fart-comedy LK 1.5.

I can't bring myself to complain too much, but the biggest Disney film of all time (as the disc keeps reminding us) really deserves better.

You got that right, Loomis. And while I'm kinda reserving myself to accepting that we'll never see the original theatrical cut again, at least the changes are pretty minor. This DVD could have (and SHOULD have, with all the time they had) been much more.

"No DVD exudes more love for a movie, or said movie's fans, than The Lion King"

oh! the deleted scenes, along with the comentary, are the best features of this dvd. It was so cool they included de alternate intro, before the circle of life was created.

On the Disc 1 the Disney Channel Stars sung the New "Circle of Life" it was ok because it had a lot of differnt young talented teens singers. :D

I also enjoy both Elton John "Circle of Life" and " Can you feel the love tonight" on Disc 2 both were awesome.

Ugh...what kind of a rag is this "Home Theater" magazine anyway. I supported their praise of Fantasia 2000, but this seems like they wanted to get printed or something.
