Okay how do you organize/arrange your Disney DVD collection?

How do you organize your Disney DVDs? Do you order them chronologically, alphabetically, in order of favorites, or some other way?

Right now, I have all of them ordered chronologically. However, I think I might change them so I have the animated classics grouped together, then the rest of my Disney DVDs (live action, sequels) in a different area. Of course, I may get those spiffy shelves offered by the DMC. But as of right now, I have everything thrown together by date.

I arrange my Disney dvds in chronological order, and my other dvds alphabetically.

When I first started collecting dvds, I put them in order of my favourite, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and so on. After about 60 discs, I just started putting them by what order I got the movies in. If I had the space, I think that I'd put them in order of year. Or I could put them in alphabetical order and split them into live action and animation sections. Or would it be to much work to put them into type of movie, computer animated, traditionally animated, scifi, etc. ? Oh, well.

My collection is rather small, but they are in with the rest of my DVDs sorted alphabetically.

Random DVDs by themselves in alphabetical order.
Anime DVDs by themselves in alphabetical order.
Tim Burton DVDs by themselves in alphabetical order.
Disney DVDs by themselves in alphabetical order.

Disney animated classics- in chronological order. Then other animated but not classics in no particular order (I think I have like four or five), then live action in chronological order, then short collections in no particular order, then Disney Treasures by release date.

Pixar - Chronological
TV Series - Per Season
Others - Randomly. If I own the sequel it will follow...

I have so many, they are all over the place LOL! I mostly put them in alphabetical order and the sequels right next to the animated movies.

I put all of my Studio Ghibli, Pixar, and Disney feature films in chronological order, but everything else is in alphabetical order.

Animated Classics, Parks & Documentaries, Disney Live Action, Pixar, Disney Toon Studios Theatrical, DTV movies, compilations..

They are all in order of release....

Then I have my non-Disney movies in alphebetical order, then my bottom shelf is cartoons, TV shows, Muppets, Christmas, and odd's and ends.

My Treasures Tins are on a seperate shelf alone with season sets.

I have my disney animated classic DVD's in chronological order of theatrical release with their DTV or theatrical release sequels following. Pixar follows in the same way, then nightmare james and the giant peach and roger rabbit. after that i have the timeless tales and CCF's. Then the animated series's. After that i have live action in chronological order.

everything else is in a random order but set apart in genres.

I just do it the old fashioned way. All Disney titles, live action and animation are alphabetized by title. All the others are also done the same way. The only genre I have separate from everything is my James Bond films on DVD, they are in chronological order.

Any other way would be very confusing to me.

I reorganized my DVD shelf again to:

Top: Harry Potter and Pixar

Middle: Disney and Favorites

Bottom: All others organized in a way that looks good!

I keep my Disney DVDs separate from my other DVDs - closer to my other Disney material. I've grouped them in two categories that I call "A" and "B" for simplicity. The "A" group includes Disney's classic animated features (the ones I've got on DVD) in chronological order and the cartoon Treasures. Group "B" consists of the rest of the Treasures and whatever further Disney material there is.

I know this sounds ridiculous because I still don't have any Disney DVDs yet, but I know how I would organize them. By line - Platinum, Gold Classic, Special Edition / Collector's Edition / Masterpiece Edition, and standard. I'd have each line alphabetized with each other and lines side-by-side.

Like many of you, I put my Animated classics in chronological order (gets kinda of tricky with the Fantasia Anthology set though) followed by Pixar in chronological order. The rest of the animated films and treasures are simply followed in no particular order.

Here's how I have MY DVDs organized:

-First there's the DVDs that come in a regular kind of case. This includes movies like Labyrinth and Office Space. They're all together in alphabetical order with the excpetion of the Muppet DVDs which are together chronologically.

-Then there are the Disney animated movies (Including Brave Little Toaster, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Lion King 1 1/2) and those are all chronological

-Next I have the Pixar movies. Those are all chronological too.

-Then there are the two movies I own which are in a Slipcase: Robots and Pirates of the Caribbean

-And then there's the kind that fold out.. there's only one and it's E.T. (with both versions of the movie)

-Next I have the movies that come in that kind of case in the carboard box that you have to clip shut. This includes movies such as the Gremlins movies, animated Lord of the Rings movies, and Neverending Story

-Then I have any thing I own in a TV show season, includes the entire Transformers series, the entire Beast Wars series, and Season one of The Muppet Show and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

-Then I have all 6 Star Wars movies next to each other, from Episode I-VI

-Finally there's everything I have in a special box, such as the first Spider-Man, the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions, and the first three Muppet movies and Muppets From Space

Yeah it may seem complicated but it's really not and I love my setup
