Disney Channel And Swearing

Post by Spottedfeather »

I know it's a rare occurence, if it happens at all, that swear words are used on the Disney Channel. I know that it'll happen if they show programs that originally on other channels, like Boy Meets World, for example. But I was just on Wikipedia, and they said that That's So Raven was one of the first Disney Channel shows to use the word "damn" I don't know about this. I've seen, I'm pretty sure, just about every episode of the show and don't recall them using swear words of any kind. Or did it happen in one of the few episodes that I missed ?
Think about this. Once bread becomes toast, you can't make it back into bread.

I do not think that I have seen that episode yet.... I did check out the Wikipedia entry, though. I for one don't trust half the stuff of Wiki. Sometimes it can be very helpful and informative, but since it is allowed to be edited by everyone, its not very reliable. Who knows? It could be true....

I have never heard anyone on That's So Raven use the word "damn". But on one episode of Even Stevens Tawny calls Louis a "donkey's behind"
Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.

Wowzers,

What's the point in saying damn once in a while > I don't mind it. High time we get these kids into the real world, PEOPLE DO SWEAR. But if you use it or not it's your choice, but there's no real problem with it.

So sayeth DG>

Long live the king, long live the king, hey folks i know I"m on an ego trip today and love every minnute of it lol.

I don't see a problem with saying 'damn' every once in a while but with the PC world we live in today it seems every little itty bitty word will offend someone out there.

That's so raven does have somethings that might bug really sensetive people, who are looking for trouble LOL. There are some sexual jokes on that's so raven, actually alot of the shows on disney channel have things that the caraters say but don't finish or something and you kind of fill in the "Bad" part.

Raven Sexual joke examples:
When eddie and chelsea are gonna dance and he says "we're gonna do our moves" or something and raven says "you nasty! my dad runs a respectable restuarant..."

OR... Tanya and victor are excersising on the ball and corry comes in and says go get your groove on somewhere else...

OR...When Raven was modeling, Raven's dad shouted "My baby made that dress" then Raven's mom said "I made that baby" and then Raven's dad shouted out "And I helped".

OR...Tanya says something like "the kids are gone, we have the house to ourselves, you know what this means!" and Victor says "Oh yeah ... pizza!".

Or... The eppisode where raven has a cold and can read minds eddie is looking at a girl and raven grabs the girl turns to eddie and says "You Nasty!"

Or... Raven sees her boyfriend giving CPR to a dummy and thinks he's cheating she runs in and says "you're cheating on me with this Hussy"

Or... The halloween episode the parents are looking at each other and talk about the kids being gone then the lean in to eachother and, like the pizza joke, they get the candy and start eating.

What annoys me is on SISTER SISTER they edit so much and there are always ackward moments where a joke was supposed to be, but I know that it's disney channel and they have to keep it clean

Actually in Chip 'N' Dale Rescue Rangers: in the episode "Parental Discretion Retired", Monty's dad, while pacing outside while Chip 'N Dale are inside the boat seeing what Fat Cat and his men are up to, says, "Damn! How long have they been in there anyway?"

Anyone else notice this?

I actually just checked on this. The subtitle says "Digum" and that's pretty clearly what it sounds like, whatever the heck that means.

The adult jokes in TSR is part of what makes it so funny! Same with SpongeBob. You don't think that it would be as popular with teenagers if it didnt have seal jokes hidden in it?

Howdy!

Funny you should mention this. I hate it when the captioning on shows like "Lizzie" and stuff have "Oh My G--" when it doesn't sound like it. The subtitles (the yellow words from the disc, not the TV) on the DVD releases are more accurate than the tripe Disney Channel puts into their captions!

Well, I do remember an episode of SisterSister when Lisa calls Ray a jack ---, and she says it twice! Sometimes what Disney Channel lets in as opposed to what they don't doesn't make sense.
