I'd say it'll definitely be worth it to upgrade because of all the new special features and the supposed restoration of the film.

And I really like the new cover. The darker tone gives it more of the moody feeling that the actual movie has.

i wonder what possesed them to make the cover so dark. usually since their target audience is parents and children, they make covers nice, fluffy and bright. maybe they figure that the only ones buying this 2 disc set (so soon after the original alice dvd release) will only be warped collectors and major fans.

The cover looks really nice! (Now I feel like a complete idiot for buying the GC Alice on New Years Eve 2002, thinking, "What are the odds that Alice is gonna get a SE, much lest 2-disc?"...)

It'll make a nice unbirthday gift for myself (since it comes out a week and a half after my birthday) :)

thank goodness for those unbirthdays!!

i really like the cover.. the first thing i thought was it looks psychedelic (i think someone else already said that). very fitting for this film considering what has often been said about lewis carroll when he wrote the alice stories :)

i'm very much looking forward to this release. i had been holding off getting the gold collection in hopes it would get a better release. yay!! :D

Yikes. Look at DVDEmpire's description of the release, edited for grammar and emphasis mine:
Alice In Wonderland comes to life like never before with a new song, hours of entertaining bonus features and a Virtual Wonderland Party that kids will want to experience again and again.
You don't think Disney edited this one do you? I hope and think they're probably referring to "I'm Odd" or another one of the deleted songs on the disc but they make it seem like the movie's been tweaked, which if true IS NOT GOOD.

'Yikes' is right. Let's hope they're just drawing poor conclusions from the specs I posted last week. I think Disney would put the "New Song" on the cover if it they were doing new animation. Plus there's the whole fact that the movie is 53 years old next year and they shouldn't be screwing around with it.

Actually, DVD Planet says
"I'm Odd" All New Cheshire Cat Song

cover looks good but alice looks weird!!!!
and i think that they should leave the film alone, that would be nice if they animated a deleted (redid) clip, but leave it as cut part of the film and use it as a sepical feature!

The link that Luke posted said in the product description (Unused song - "I'm Odd") so I would assume that its just a deleted scene type of thing, nothing to worry about.

I love the cover art!! It's so unusual and not typical for Disney... Just so cool! Anyway, i will be double-dipping on this one for sure and i can't wait for it!!!

The cover reminds me of the Disneyland dark ride.. with the black light effects. Maybe they had the pothead Alice fans.. which i know there are many.. in mind when they made it

I love the cover! is so collector's like. about limited time I think they want to make this a few bucks of DVD before HD comes out and releasing this restored and as a 2 disc set will appeal all the collector's and they will accomplish their goal. I just hope this Masterpiece Collection doesn't end up going down the drain like the awesome Vault Disney Collection. About the re-using Masterpiece Collection like I've said before It was the best collection Disney ever put out and I'm sure this DVD version will satisfy everyone!

Ok, I'm getting really bad.
As soon as I saw that link, I clicked and ordered without hesitation.
I think this might actually be some kind of certifiable sickness.
Really.
Dinseyphilia.

It is looking pretty cool. I'd buy it for the cover alone :D
And I only got my current Alice copy last Xmas...

So why's Sleeping Beauty supposedly added to the Platinum line-up and Alice in Wonderland isn't?

Also, The Lion King is available for 2 years, but Alice a "lesser" release is available for a "limited time only"?

"Logic, do not bother me, for I work at Disney!"

the cover art for Alice looks very strange. i prefer the first cover that was release on video. the only thing i'm looking forward to is the DVD extras. also where did you find the cover art for the DVD at.

I don't think it matter if Alice SE is worth it or not. After all, we all are into Disney. Let's have a raise of hands to see who's not going to buy this limited edition DVD. :)
