Presents:
Alice In Wonderland
Brother Bear
WDT: Disney Rarities
Bewitched Season 2
Myself I've recently bought:
WDT: Chronoligical Donald Volume 2
Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas
CCC #9 Classic Holiday (the one with Small One)
Raise Your Voice
Toy Story 2
Kronk's New Groove Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (Widescreen) Charlie & The Chocolate Factory (Widescreen) Madagascar (Fullscreen)
and, my friend Danielle gave me Chicago: The Razzle-Dazzle Edition
For the rest of my Family..
My Mom got Must Love Dogs (Fullscreen), My dad - Scrubs: The Complete Second Season, and My Brother The 40-Year-Old Virgin (R-Rated, Fullscreen)
If you are wondering why my Family and I got so many Fullscreen DVDs, it is because our televisions are small and square, and we have no plan to get a Widescreen television, so the bars can get quite annoying on such a small T.V. I like to get certain films (Star Wars, Charlie) in Widescreen to see all of the picture, mainly because of the wonderful art direction, graphics etc. However, for other films (Virgin, Dogs), we could care less..
We got The Brothers Grimm the other day. It's a blind buy so I hope we like it. We have so many movies we need to watch, but there's never enough time. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we can spend a day at home just watching movies and realxing.
I've recently concluded that my Disney VHS collection was fastly deteriorating (sad, but I knew it would happen someday), so I decided to start aquiring DVDs to back up my VHS collection. I came to this conclusion two days ago. Within the past day, I've gone Disney crazy. I joined the DMC, and then it all went downhill (or is it uphill?)
My four free movies from the DMC:
Alice in Wonderland
Cinderella
Bambi
Aladdin
My 9.95 DMC movie- Robin Hood
My 14.95 DMC movie- The Fox and the Hound
I had a Wal-Mart giftcard, so I decided to get a Disney DVD with it. I ended up getting Toy Story: 10th Anniversary Edition.
Today, I decided to spend my Best Buy giftcards. I picked up The Rescuers, The Sword in the Stone, and Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
I swung by Gamestop and found a used copy of Pete's Dragon, which no other store in town had. It was $13.90 (including tax), so not that bad. It works perfectly.
Then I went to Suncoast and browsed their Disney section. I found The Black Cauldron for $19.99. Then, lo and behold, I found their used DVD section. I found the Gold Collection Pocahontas for $13.99 and The Lion King 1 1/2 for $14.99(considering it's now OOP, I didn't mind paying that.) I go to check out and the cashier tells me that used DVDs are buy 2, get one free. So I went back and got The Incredibles for free.
All in all, I'd say it isn't a bad start to my Disney DVD collection. There are only 11 more DVDs that are in print I need to back up my VHS copies. I'm disappointed some of my favorite titles are already OOP, so know I have to wait quite a few years (or shell out quite a few bucks) to round out my collection.
I've never seen The Black Cauldron, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, or The Lion King 1 1/2. I love Disney- no matter how many of the films you've seen, there's always more out there you haven't.
So, sorry for the long post, but I'm just really enthusiatic about collecting these DVDs and wanted to share my new buys.
Much of this I posted on the Christmas Present Thread but still....

The Huckleberry Hound Show Vol. 1 $25.19 US (marked down from $44.98)
Ernest Goes To Africa $3.23 US (marked down from $5.99)
Now I'm broke.
(BTW I was in the US to see "The Polar Express: An IMAX 3D Experience" and it was SO much better this year. The crowd had mostly familys and teens so no yelling of little kids. The 3-D was great. It was just an all around better experience but it made me want the DVD (the 2 disc with the train) but I have no more money and I cant find anymore. Wonderful film. WHOPS REALLY off-Topic)
But my mom did also get Shout about movies game (discs 1, 3, & 4) so we'll see if we like this or Scene it? better.

I've been 'um'ing and 'ah'ing about this for ages due to the fact I knew it featured syndicted prints of episodes, but I saw it for an insane 6.99, so I thought what the hell.
Roseanne: Season One
And it's as hilarious as ever, and I can't remember the original run anyway, so it's not as if I feel I'm missing anything.
Also as Netty says, it's not edited, it's 'on a diet'!
