I'd say go for it too. I've never heard of any fake trasure sets being made anyway. Also, the guy has been a member for 6 years with a 100% feedback rating and doesn't sell alot so he's not mass making fake sets of stuff to sell. I might jump in though and bid too, lol.
The winning bid was $44.00. That's about right for the Silly Symphonies.
...and so you two are absolutely identical? You know I'm sure I can get you a part in Toy Story 3... I'm sorry. Are we back? All right girls...lovely talking to you.
I'm looking at the Lion King movies on ebay and I'm wondering how I can tell bootleg/Asian copies from US versions if the auction doesn't say? I've emailed a couple sellers and am waiting to hear back, but how do I know I can trust them anyway. The only Disney dvds I have bought on ebay ended up being bootleg garbage so I'm very leary about buying there, but I can't find the 3 movies anywhere else. Amazon has LK 2, but the price seems to high for me. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Niki
Do you have the links to the auctions you're looking at? If so, some of the members on here have a good eye for frauds, so it may be a good idea to post them here, so they can have a look.

Hi,
LMK what price range you are looking at and if you are looking for new or used. I can get these and they will be the real thing no boots or Asian ones. I have done a lot of trading and selling here. dg@disneyguy.net
Well, the ones I'm looking at on ebay are $9 for Lion King 1 1/2, $10 for Lion King 2, and $19 for Lion King. I am only looking for new, still sealed copies. I am looking for as cheap as possible, but still authentic!
Thanks!
Niki
The first indication is the price. If they aren't charging as much as you'd think they would for an OOP Lion King, it is probably a bootleg. Also, some auctions will say in their listing that "This is a factory release. We do not sell bootlegs here". Now, yes, you can't always believe that, but it helps. You should also check feeback. Most buyers will either indicate that they did not know it was a bootleg, or they will say "It is a good copy." That usually means that they are bootlegs. Also, you may have to pay more, but to ensure its quality and originality, look for a copy that has the slip-sleeve as well. That would be a hard thing to reproduce. You may have to pay a little more, but it would be worth it to know you have the real thing. Hope this helps!
I paid over $20 for a copy of 101 Dalmatians and then looked at the buyer's feedback in depth. My bad! The seller is a rampant bootlegger. However, I also got a copy of Beauty and the Beast from a reputable seller, and that was for $25 shipped. I guess you just have to seek out the good sellers- a lot of them will have something negative about the Asian releases and/or bootlegs. I actually found a very reputable seller who only sells the real deal. I just have to save up the money to get them now!
But, my number one piece of advice is something already brought up- the higher the price, the more likely it is real.
Ok, another scenerio. These two sellers have only the stock photo, but they both have 100 % feedback (one with 1691 and the other with 295). What do you think?
That auction is most likely legitimate. The price is reasonable for a recently released DVD of a direct-to-video movie, the seller says it is Region 1 and not an Asian bootleg, and it has the right case/cover art. Also, the feedback descriptions are quite positive.
My general rule of thumb on feedback is to look for 95% or greater with 50 or more responses.
