I'm vacationing at WDW right now and next week I will be going to all four parks. And it will be my first time going to Animal Kingdom. (I go to Orlando every year, this is the first time I will be going to AK though).
So I have two questions:
What type of ride is Expedition Everest? At our timeshare, we can see the huge new mountain, the Epcot globe, and in the distance the MGM Mickey Sorceror hat and the Mickey Ears water tower. Can't see Tree of Life or anything from MK.
Anyway, this is a big year of firsts. Riding Tower of Terror for first time. Splash Mountain, too. And Animal Kingdom. And new attractions: Motor Cars Stunt Show @ MGM (WHAT DID THIS REPLACE? I THOUGHT IT REPLACES INDIANA JONES BUT IT IS STILL THERE!), Cinderella-bration, and something else methinks. Also will be riding Test Track for the first time at Epcot. We've decided to try these. But we still won't do Rockin' Roller Coaster nor Mission: Space. Oh yes - Soarin' is the new ride.
Anyway, the other question, is are they previewing the ride or testing it on guests? How can we sign up, depending on what the ride is?

I believe that Expedition Everest will have previews in late January, from what I have read. It is a high speed coaster attraction.
Have fun seeing the new attractions. I saw the original Moteurs, Action! at Walt Disney Studios Paris and it was great. Soarin is a Disneyland Resort original, and it is really neat. Cinderellabration is a lot better at Tokyo Disneyland, though.
I am going to WDW again a few weeks, can't wait!

Just FYI, there is a whole thread on the Everest ride here:
http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... hp?t=11932
Any news we have on the ride will be found there, and any questions should probably be posted there too.
There is a great interview online at the moment, as part of the DisneyWorld Podcasts. A link to that may be found in the above thread too.
It will be YEARS before I get to ride this thing, so I'm living vicariously through everyone else at the moment

Went to Animal Kingdom two days ago. No previews. The Mountain is taller than the Tree of Life and can be seen from a distance from the balcony of my resort, which is behind Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and MGM Studios (Orange Lake Resort).
AK was OK but had the worst parade ever. Short. Hardly any characters. Mainly resort guests in carraiges.
Did Test Track for the first time. Does it really go faster than the Rockin' Roller Coaster at MGM Studios? I don't do rides with big drops or loops or upside down. I will do Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Coaster, Test Track, Dinosaur, but not Rockin' Roller Coaster. I will have riden Tower of Terror for the first time ever as of tomorrow. Test Track is my new favorite attraction. Loved it to death.
It's Tough To Be A Bug was very good as well. Out of all 3D or 4D rides where you have to wear the glasses, this is the 2nd best attraction of this type in Orlando (the first being the Spider-Man ride in Islands of Adventure). However, it can be very traumatizing for kids!! Was shocked they made it that scary.
We waited in line for hours for the River Rapids ride in AK. Planned to do it last because we knew it would get us wet and we wouldn't have to be wet throughout the day. Loved it but IT IS THE SHORTEST THING EVER!!! I don't think it was even 30 seconds after you climb up the tram. One of the biggest upsets ever at a Disney theme park.

I know exactly how you feel about that one. I felt cheated after going on River Rapids, and if I had to have waited in line for that one, I would have been mad. Luckily, I got to walk straight through (as the park had just opened for the day). It's way too short, but it's fun.CaptainJasHook wrote: We waited in line for hours for the River Rapids ride in AK.
