Might have to get this one. They should used the dress she wore near the end before those green creeps wrecked it.

That's quite possibly the ugliest DVD art cover I've ever seen for an animated film.

I think the cover art is pretty, but, like other people before me have said, her face looks funny.

I really like the artwork for Anastasia. Everytime my family watches it they think it's Disney and I tell them it's Fox the same people who made Ferngully.

Anastasia "Family Fun Edition" is released! :)

If you are me and you love this film, don't pass on this great 2-Disc set. HOWEVER, The Fox Centruy company doesn't like to remaster their movies so you are basically getting the same transfer on the single disc release. I can live with it though. :)
They did the same thing with the Ferngully 2-Disc release.
I would love to have a Thumbelina 2-Disc set. :)

So go get your copy of Anistasia today! :)

Not quite. As I understand it, the 2-disc set is an anamorphic transfer, so it can't be the same. The old 1-disc release is definitely not anamorphic.

That is the UGLIEST cover art that I've seen in quite some time. The 1-disc cover art (taken from the theatrical poster art) is MUCH better IMO!

That movie was horrible!

I can name at least 12 non-Disney animated films I'd recommend before this.

Anistasia wasn't that horrible Justine.
My parents always thought it was Disney.

I have no idea, who Justine is, could you be referring to me, Justin?

As for the movie, it's been a while since I saw it, but from what I remember, it was really boring! :)

I'm not sure if I should double dip on it...

I already have Anastasia on DVD, and the cover art on the "Family Fun" edition is just ugly.

I agree, horribly awful cover art. Good thing I had no plans to buy this because that cover just turned me off on the movie for life.

I would just keep the one you have...unless your a special feature bug. I don't own the movie yet and I love it!! I would just but the single disc edition, but I can't find it secondhand anywhere...maybe I'll buy this despite the horrendously ugly cover. Anastasia's waist is, like, tiny.

And what exactly is a "family-fun edition"? Why can't it just be a "special edition"?

This is one of the best releases of the year, so far. Notwithstanding horrible cover art you get lots of features which include a second movie (Bartok) on the 2nd disc. It IS anamorphic (Anastasia, Bartok is OAR fullscreen as it was direct to video). DVD Talk rated it highly recommended & would've given it's rare Collector's Series rating according to the critic if the features on the second disc were a little easier to access. Most are available through a second menu but some you have to play some games to get to. I have watched both discs in their entirety & the transfers on both movies are pretty close to perfect. I wouldn't hold on to a non anamorphic title when it became available enhanced for ws no matter what. Even if you don't own one now eventually you'll own a ws tv & want everything anamorphic. To top everything it was only $12.99 & came with a movie cash ticket for Ice Age 2. It is a real no brainer.

I totally agree. It took me all of three seconds to read about the upgrade of this DVD to decide I was going to buy it. And the Ice Age 2 ticket....that's worth $5.50 alone to me because I was going to take my kids anyway.

I didn't find the cover art THAT horrible, either.

I went to my Circuit City to get this but I couldn't find it. When I asked one of the sales people, they told me that the store had only ordered 5 copies....they didn't even have a proper picture of it in the ad.

I got a raincheck for it, but it still sucks that I have to wait...they're not even sure when they'll get more in.

By the way - If any of you got the Ice Age movie ticket, and don't have plans to use it, I would be willing to buy it off you. PM me.

(I know this should really go in the Trade section, but it seems to directly relate to this post, sorry).
