Monster's Inc new ride

i just listed to the disney podcast and they talking about the new ride. and the guy said it open the first week or second week of january. i cant wait.

I posted that above, about a week ago. (You know, the one you ignored when you posted the same information two days later).

Went on it today, and it was better than I expected. I really liked the Animatronics even though they are not very sophisticated. Roz wasn't interacting when I rode nor was the Boo hitting Randal effect working. So I am still looking forward to seeing those.

But as for the rest of the ride, it is nicely done. The sets are detailed, and I think they captured the charm of characters well. It should be a hit with families.

The outside queue could have added some more detailing, but I liked that behind the facade it reads "MONSTERS INC PROD. SCENE 13" etc, etc - or something to that effect - to tie it in with the Backlot.

OT... The surrounding area is looking really nice. The trees and planters should have been there from Day 1 I think. And the Mickey fountain is a nice addition. I am hoping that they add the broomsticks from Walt Disney Studios Paris.

While I was there I saw that they were lifting kermit up to the the muppets building. It was only up to his waist, and it seems that they are attempting to make it look like he is bursting through the wall of the building.

The attraction should definatley be opened by next week, but the OFFICIAL opening is next month.

It will be years before I get over to California again, so I'll have to live vicariously through you people. Sounds like it will be a fun addition to the dark rides.

was the ride fast or slow. did you get scaried at any parts or was it preety kid ish. how long was it.

It's a family style dark ride, and it's only a few minutes long.

There will be 2 Pixar rides for opening soon. Monster Inc., and Finding Nemo. I hope they change Autopia to Cars, when Pixar comes out with that movie!!

I always enjoy hearing about new attractions and rides, especially when they employ new technologies (as with this Monsters Inc ride).

I also think that Finding Nemo makes perfect sense as a new underwater park. The Submarine Voyage was a little dated, I guess, and Nemo was a huge hit. I hope to be able to get back to California one day...

That said, I'm not sure converting stuff to Pixar is necessarily the best thing. It is, after all, Disneyland and not Pixarland (I do, however, think that a Pixarland within a resort would rock). However, I am all for using Cars on Autopia, as it would seem to be a good fit. The video footage in the waiting area could easily be changed to incorporate the new characters, and it would be kind of cool to see different shapes and sizes on the actual cars.

That Mickey fountain looks really effective. They really needed something like that in DCA to give it more of a 'Disneyfied' atmosphere.

It is definitely looking like it will be one of the brightest and colourful of the 'dark rides'

How can you ride it if it's not even open yet?

I was at Disneyland and California Adventure this week with my best friend and on tuesday, they had a sneak preview of the ride, so we got on it. It's cute, and I think families will enjoy it. I've never seen the movie, but my friend said it had the same charm of the movie, and the concept was a good idea. I like how the cars had little tv screens on the side. It was something different.

It was not too great of a ride. The monster that blows cold air was not working. At a Six Flags it would be a great ride, but this is Disney we are talking about. This is possible the slowest moving Disney ride outside of Ellen's Energy Adventure and The Great Movie Ride. I love Mr. Toad and Alice in Wonderland, and also quite enjoy DL's Snow White and Pinniochio.

For Disney Monster Inc. is a solid D
For rides in general it is maybe a B-.

It is great for parents who don't want their kids to be scared, even Winnie the Pooh is scarier.

"Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley To The Rescue! will have it's official opening on Monday January 23! There will be a private Premiere Party Sunday night that will welcome Hollywood celebrities down a "blue-spotted" carpet who will attend the opening of the newest attraction at Disney's California Adventure.

Monday at 10AM is the official grand opening of the attraction. There will be a short grand opening ceremony followed by the opening of the attraction. Mickey News will be there both Sunday for the party as well as Monday for the opening so look for a story with all the details.

This new attraction is taking the place of the short lived All Star Limo Ride that was only open for a few short months then closed unexpectedly leaving a large empty spot in the back corner of Hollywood Backlot. There had been many rumors about what was going in that location and it wasn't until last May that Disney announced this new exciting attraction.

Look for exciting new effects in this classic Disney "Dark Ride" and a special ending that the kids will love. "

I have heard that Guest feedback taken at the exit of the attraction has been very good! This is definatley the family-friendly attraction that DCA needed.

Fans have been craving a new Disney dark ride for a long time, so I was very pleased to see it announced. There was a Disney Channel (I think) mini-ride-through video that made it look kind of hokey, but I suspect that most (if not all) of Disney's classic dark rides would come off that way in that sort of presentation too. I'd really like to be able to experience this, though its predecessor sounded very interesting to me too, despite negative reviews.
