Cohen Hopeful Of Futurama Return
December 21st, 2005
DVD sales of old episodes and the return of Family Guy under similar circumstances has bouyed Futurama creator Matt Groening and writer David X Cohen's hopes that the show will return soon. "Three months ago, I would have said we were going to start tomorrow," says Cohen in the article. "And one month ago I would also have said we were going to start tomorrow. So... my current estimate is that we're starting tomorrow." If Peter, Stewie, and company get a second chance, why can't Fry, Leela, and Bender?
At least this show is getting a second chance.
Now it will be a real Animated Domination!!!!

7:00 Animated reruns
7:30 War at Home or new Animated show
8:00 The Simpsons

Whether or not Futurama returns to Fox TV...
Billy West (Fry, Zoidberg, etc.) has posted on his website's message board that the production team has been reassembled to create four full-length direct-to-DVD Futurama features! (And I have no doubt they will all be funnier than that tragic cash-in direct-to-DVD Family Guy thing from last year--Family Guy's great, but that thing was nowhere near as good as any of the series' episodes.)

Despite being a huge Simpsons fanatic, I never could get into Futrama. I found the humor depended too much on 20th century pop culture and I never cared about the characters. I will watch it time to time when it is convenient but I never plan to watch it.

Only a fraction of its humour was based on current pop-culture. There's a whole lot more to Futurama than that.creid wrote:Despite being a huge Simpsons fanatic, I never could get into Futrama.
