Weird Lion King VHS

Post by Logoliker2004 »

Hey, I came across this on eBay.

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/DISNEYS-ORIGINAL-LI ... tem">Click here...</a>

Description reads: "THIS IS WALT DISNEY'S ORIGINAL LION KING IN A COVER I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE. I BELIEVE IT IS AN ORIGINAL RELEASE AND THEN THEY DECIDED TO CHANGE THE COVER. IT IS FROM THE CLASSICS SERIES, BLACK DIAMOND LOGO. IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION."

Was this a demo tape or something? Or was it an actual early release, with a less-detailed back artwork just having critic reviews on it, and being an actual "The Classics" release?

I have that VHS tape. When I was younger my Mom who works in Manhattan bought this from a vendor on the street. It is a bootleg, to my knowledge it was only sold in Manhattan by a certain group of merchants.

I have seen that cover.

I spent the afternoon at a friend's house once back in 98 or 99, and that was the edition she had. I don't know where they got it from.
