"Save" Aladdin
folks, we've all seen what disney did to Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. Do you think there's still time to save aladdin. Like, for example call Di$ney and let them know we want the original theatrical. And then i mean we should all call. I'm sure when they get many complaints they might change their minds? does anybody think this is a possibility? or am i just dreaming lol

Well, I am actually very concerned myself, about ALADDIN ON IMAX. For one main reason: THE GENIE:
he transforms himself in many characters that used to be famous when the movie was released. However, do you guys that The Genie will still be in the form of...
... Arsenio Hall?
... Rogerfield?
I hope they dont' ruin this one with updated transformations into... who could it be in the year 2003? Conan O'Brian? David Letterman? Joey or Ross?
Please, Disney, it's about time that you respected your own work.

The only way to truly "save" the original is to continue to voice our displeasure over the whole Lion King fiasco. If enough folks make it clear that they aren't happy with not having the original, maybe, just maybe, it might make a difference.

I hope they don't add any political gag or something.... as for the new scene they better putting their best this time and extend the movie not just for seconds, anyhow, we all claim for the original original origiiiiiinaaaaaaaal version. But if the new song has the genie on it, he will have another voice...
Anyway, I'm sure there will be a magic carpet version of lion king's virtual safari, inside the cave of wonders.

That would be the GREAT Dan Castellaneta, okay so he was no Robin Williams when doing the Genie but he did do a rather good job IMO.Uncle Remus wrote:if Disney puts a new scene in Aladdin, it better be a good one with the Genie in it. and the Genie should be voiced by Robin Williams and not the Homer Simpson guy.

Yes, it was written to that score music, but it's sung by Jasmine, not Genie.quasi72 wrote:TO BE FREE is a score song in the original theatrical ALADDIN, I don't know if they added lyrics to it so that the Genie can sing. I haven't heard anything about Disney mistreating this great film... yet...
Although I think we'd have heard something by now if they were adding a new scene. Didn't we hear about Morning Report by this time last year?

Aladdin
If disney does go ahead an add to Aladdin I hope that some of the material from the "Music Behind the Magic" makes it into the film. There are a huge amount of unsed lyrics and songs that I would welcome into a special edition of Aladdin. It would only pay a huge tribute to the great lyricist that Howard Ashman is.

Knowing Disney they might add an new scene to the Aladdin Special Edition.
I'm a big Aladdin fan I have both sequels on VHS, watch the Aladdin: the TV series which ran from1994-1996 on CBS,KCAL (DisneyAdventure Synicated,Disney Channel and now on Toon Disney.
The perfect scene is to put the "To Be Free" scene just like the play in California Adventure.
I can't wait to see the art cover of the Aladdin Special Edition.

i can almost imagine it...with Aladdin with the lamp on his hand (a la snowwhite with the apple), and a huuuuuge big fat blue genie all over the cover, they're going back to blue, jazmine will be there too, and abu will be on the bottom, jafar an iago may be in it or not.MickeyMousePal wrote: I can't wait to see the art cover of the Aladdin Special Edition.

yeah i can the Aladdin Platinum Edition cover right now. It would have the Genie at the top with the Aladdin logo, A huge picture of Aladdin on it, on the right bottom corner are Abu, Jasmine, the Magic Carpet, and on the left corner are Jafar and Iago. i already know that Disney is going to make alot of changes to the movie.
