This is getting on my nerves. I just called a copuple of stores here, including Suncoast adn they still don't have it for sale and on top of everything you have to place the order with them. They won't sell it as regular DVDs.

What's with this?

I'm starting to believe what some reviewers have said on amazon about the series possibly become OOP or that they won't release what's left of them; THEY BETTER DO!!! Especially since they just need to release 2 more box sets.

Have you checked Wal-Mart by you. Mine has it. The cover is cool, it has one of those motion scenes

No, mine don't carry it. In fact, no Walmart in PR has it.

I'm telling you, not even specialized stores have them. You have to place orders from them.

Nevermind, I just ordered it from bestbuy.com.

PS

It was now or never for me.

Well, today I got Season 2, Vol. 1.

I'm getting really impressed this time around. I found that stores where putting them on display in the same way, regular releases do; usually TV shows don't get that display (unless it was Friends and Buffy).

I don't know if I should be worried or grateful. :? For the last releases, the show didn't get this special attention. They did sell because I saw that the sets had papers sticked to them of pre-orders.

At least we have just one more set to go to finally have the whole series. 8) :float:

PS

My guess would be that the last box color will be green.

Well I have the complete Dungeons and Dragons cartoon collection, in a sturdy book/box type package and... with Fan Commentaries which are a real blast!

I also have the first 6 He-Man discs, which sadly, were discontinued over here as they weren't selling. I'm not too impressed with the episodes to be honest, but they have more Fan Commentaries!

I have the He-Man Christmas Special (sadly released by another company - Universal - so no Fan Commentary) and the Secret of the Sword/Best-Of She-Ra on order.

I have all of Rhinos Transformers but none of that CGI Beast Wars nonsense!
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Netty Beast Wars was cool animals vs. dinosaurs...probably get the original Transformers and G.I. Joe on e-bay or something since they are OOP.
Also I have that He-Man Chirstmas Special too.

Can anyone help me with the Thundercats Season 1 Volume 1 replacement number I can't find it. I haven't check if my set is defected but if it is I need that number.

Must everything get rebooted? What's wrong with showing the old cartoon?

So, is anyone else on here avidly following the latest developments re: the TCats reboot like I am? I've been stalking thundercatslair.org and all the new info/pictures from the NY Toy Fair have me so psyched to see how this new series will play out!

I'm also looking to (finally) get the DVD boxsets, but I'm a bit leery of some of the offers I'm finding out there.....season 2, volume 2 for $9 brand new? Seems too good to be true.....

It may be that hoarders and resellers have tons of them that were dumped on the market, lowering the prices. I lucked out and managed to find a couple of the original box sets at Big Lots a couple of years ago for $3 or $6 each, along with tons of other WB/Hanna Barbera shows like Animaniacs, Flintstones, etc. (Thundercats isn't HB, but you know what I mean.)

The Big Lots thing probably isn't going to happen for anyone reading this now, from what I understand, WB contracted with a company to destroy unsold sets, the company resold them to Big Lots and other places instead, getting paid twice. WB sued them but good, and Big Lots may have been named in the suit as well, even though they bought the items in good faith. Even if Big Lots didn't have to pay, they probably had to pull any unsold items from their shelves.

Also, there are some 1-2 disc versions of the sets, that are also called Season 1, Volume 2 (discs 3-4), etc. Make sure you get the full 6-disc set.

Thanks! Yeah, I've actually seen the bigger and smaller sets at Moviestop, although they wanted $60 for them used....bit rich for my blood, unless I absolutely cannot find them cheaper elsewhere. Here's hoping!

I'm one of those crazy slipcover people, so if you care about the lenticular holograms that the first run boxes had, you may have to pay a little more to find those. If not, just grab some of the cheap used ones on Amazon or E-Bay (doing what you can to ensure they aren't bootlegs.)

I'm not all about the matchy-matchy, haha---I have many a series of books in which some are hardcover and some are paperback. Used is fine with me (although the less scratched/damaged the better, obviously), since I'm looking to pick up some of the awesome new TCats toys coming later this year. Could you suggest ways for me to avoid bootlegs?

Just ask the seller basic questions - Is this the official set as pictured from Warner Brothers? Is it an import (a lot of sellers use that as code for bootleg.) How many discs does it have (should be 6 per volume I think, for most of the Thundercats sets.)

If they say it's legit, but it's an import, stay away. If they say it's legit, but it looks different than what is pictured, stay away. If they say the whole series is on 3-4 discs, STAY AWAY!

Thanks for the advice! WOW that one doesn't look anything near legit, but they've sold 35 of them.... :o

Stup.. err, Uninformed people who don't know about bootlegs, don't know how to tell an obvious bootleg (items that are almost exact copies are much harder to tell apart), genuinely believe that bootlegs marked Import are actually licensed items from other parts of the world, and people who may know it's a boot, but don't care because it's cheap are the ones who buy stuff like that. It does look like a great deal, right? The entire series for 35-40 bucks, instead of almost 4 times that for the legit box sets.

I really hope there aren't any of the above people lurking on this forum who would buy from that link I posted instead of realizing it was something I was telling them to avoid.

Seriously, if someone told me they didn't care that it was a bootleg and was going to buy it because it was cheap, I'd suggest torrenting/downloading it instead... Still illegal, still a violation of copyright, but at least they aren't paying some dude 40 bucks for a cheaply-made knockoff, and that $40 may be helping to support organized crime and/or the Drug trade.

Note: The above paragraph is in no way advocating the use of torrents or downloading to obtain pirated copies of movies/TV, etc.

I can see the cheap argument, as I just spent nearly $90 on all four boxsets....not bad compared to full price for each I know, but still a big chunk of change for a poor college student like me! Although I did manage to get a great deal on season 2--both boxes for $24! It was season 1 that killed me....couldn't seem to find part 2 for some reason, so I bought them bundled together brand new for a little over 60. Ho-hum.

I actually had a new media course taught by a man who fully supports downloading and such: he made us watch a documentary about the folks who run Pirate Bay. I just....don't agree with it. Creative Commons is great if you make the content, but I can't see illegal downloading as anything other than, well, illegal.
