LOL, but it would have been nice if you could tell us. So, if Lady and the Tramp is a 2-disc Special Edition why did the trailer only state that it was a Special Edition, surely they would have said it was a 2-Disc Special Edition if it really was?ichabod wrote:What? I also wondered why they only called it a "Special Edition". But im pretty sure Bod knows what hes on about!Nick Bryant wrote:LOL, but it would have been nice if you could tell us. hiiiii
I've just watched some of the first Bionicle film (er. Less said about that the better) but they had a preview for The Lion King on the front, and they only called that Special Edition DVD. They never mentioned it was 2 discs. So they can ignore the disc count if they want to.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I've never really been bothered about the number of discs, as long as it has the same amount of bonus features, but with LATT, i'd be gutted if it wasn't 2 disc lol i don't know why, probably because its a platinum/special edition.

You can compare the one-disk and two-disk releases here (see esp. R2 — Holland):nordic wrote:No, that feature has been axed. Appearantly, the disc contains the movie, some games and some brief making-of features.

It appears that the one-disk release is missing some interesting documentaries, among others the featurette "From Walt's Table — A Tribute to Disney's Nine Old Men", a highly interesting round-table discussion with top animators!
In Scandinavia, Cinderella was released only as a one-disk version. It costs as much as the U.S. edition with postages. I'm happy to own it
Same thing happen here with some R4 special editions like Alice in wonderland and PocahontasFrankV wrote:Well, the Platinum Editions aren't called that way in Europe, I think. At least not in The Netherlands. They're all called Special Editions. The Netherlands did get two versions of Cinderella, a 1-disc and a 2-disc. The 1-disc doesn't include the ESNP Classic featurette. We did get a 1-disc of Snow White, but the others are all 2-disc.Enchantress wrote:I don't understand how Disney can release a 1-disc platinum?

Today the Dutch press release of Lady and the Tramp was released. And we will have next to a 2-disc edition a 1-disc edition again. I'm looking forward to it.FrankV wrote:Well, the Platinum Editions aren't called that way in Europe, I think. At least not in The Netherlands. They're all called Special Editions. And here is our cover:

(a direct link doesn't work)
I like this cover! Isn't this one a bit different from the R1?
The only thing I don't like about it: The film title in English, Dutch and French.

I think I know why they do this. This DVD will be sold in Belgium too, and there they speak Dutch and French...Enchantress wrote:Yeah that does look a bit weirdScabbie wrote: The only thing I don't like about it: The film title in English, Dutch and French.

Yeah it'd be easier for Disney if they did that, has it happened much with past releases?Scabbie wrote:I think I know why they do this. This DVD will be sold in Belgium too, and there they speak Dutch and French...Enchantress wrote: Yeah that does look a bit weird

Only releases of the last month or two had more then one title on the cover. Cinderella had one title (but more titles on the disc art).Enchantress wrote:Yeah it'd be easier for Disney if they did that, has it happened much with past releases?Scabbie wrote: I think I know why they do this. Has The UK cover art had a revamp?
HMV certainly seems to think so!
