Good places to eat

Post by danamichelle »

Can anybody suggest some good places to eat at the parks?

Usually my husband and I eat at the cheap places when we go but this time I want to go to some good places.

I am pretty sure I want to go to the Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom. Has anyone been there? How is the food?

Hi there.

LTT is awesome. they keep bringing u food till u say "STOP". The menu usually includes:
chicken, mashed potatos, mac & cheese, corn, biscuits.
also get salad i believe...
I've eaten there about 3x & everytime i left satisfied...& the character dining is double the fun...
also a good place to eat @ MK is

* Plaza Restuarant next to the ice cream parlor off Main Street USA. They serve sandwiches.
I dont reccomend Crystal Palace-it's VERY LOUD in there w/ all the kids screams echoing off the glass...
* Tonys on Main Street USA is fun too. Italian Cuisine there.

@ Epcot I reccomend:
* Coral Reef @ Living Seas. That is the restaurant w/ the aquarium wall...
They serve seafood & chicken.

I also reccomend:
* San Angel Inn in Mexico Pavillion. Dark, somewhat quiet, & the food is absolutely delicious...& the margaritas-u gotta have at least one.

Other reccomendations for Epcot:
* Garden Grill in The Land-they serve chicken, salads, sandwiches-its the restuarant that goes around in a slow circle & character dining w/ mickey, chip, dale & pluto.
* Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada Pavillion

@ DAK there is Rainforest Cafe-which i am sure at some point or another u have eaten at one. They serve a little bit of everything in a rainforest atmosphere complete w/ thunderstorms & animatronic animals.
There is a character breakfast w/ Donald, Daisy (sometimes), Goofy, Mickey & Pluto @ Restaurantsarus.

@ Studios
pretty much all of the sit-downs are awesome:

* 50s Prime Time Cafe is "homestyle" like meatloaf, chicken, ect.
You eat in "Moms" kitchen & there are tvs at everytable. You are usually waited on by "Aunt", "Uncle", "Sis", or "Bro" & MoM & Grandma are in the kitchen cooking. Lots of fun here.

* Sci-Fi Theater is eating at the drive-in & u sit in convertibles. the food is salads & sandwiches. There is a big screen to watch clips/trailers of OLD movies & cartoons. It's dark & sometimes loud-unless all the kids are distracted by the big screen. SOMETIMES the waitstaff is on rollerskates.

* Mama Melrose Pizzaria is set in NYC. Italian cusine. Quiet and cozy...good for a couple w/ no kids.

Hope this helps!

Latah.

Oooh good topic!

I definitely second 50's Prime Time Cafe! Escapay took me there last time we visited MGM and it was a lot of fun b/c of the atmosphere! Well we were seated in a room with a large group of adolescent girl's soccer team or girl scout troop or something so they were annoying. But the servers are funny and so good at their roles. I dare you to leave your hat on at the table and watch the fun begin! Lol! When we walked in, Escapay took off his hat, but I left mine on. The people at the table next to us who have almost finished their meal were watching me and stifiling laughter. Anyhow, the cooking is good and wholesome Mom and restaurant quality! It's also a lot of fun picking dessert!

We usually eat at the quick food counter service too, so there isn't much more I have had experience at.

Oh wait...

Ohana's is another GREAT place like LTT. You're "cousin" serves you until you've had enough. You get a lot of great grilled food right from the inhouse open flame barbeque! There's pork, chicken, beef, and giant shrimp. You also get a platter of smaller breaded shrimp, rice, vegetables, and one of the best - hawaiian coconut bread! It's warm, fresh and great even if you don't like coconut (Almond Joy has turned me away from coconut anything for years), but you don't wanna fill yourself up with it since they serve it to you first. The menu has changed here recently, so I'm not quite sure what they're serving now. I think one of the main dish things have changed and I remembered reading at INTERCOT that the dessert has changed from pineapple spears with caramel to something else. But anyhow, it's still a great experience and if you time ur arrival and priority seating right, you'll get to watch Wishes from your table with the soundtrack playing inside the restaurant! Oh this is at the Polylnesian Resort, btw, lol.

The 50's Sci-Fi Dine-In is another great place for the atmosphere. The food is general restaurant quality American cuisine (burgers, fries, and the like), but the Dine-In experience is truly unique. Though if you enjoy conversing with ur fellow diners or having a nice round table meal, you won't find that here. Usually everyone is quiet and entranced by the giant movie scream that plays lame, but laughable B movie trailers and Tom and Jerry cartoons...it's odd though that there isn't much Disney at all in this theater considering how much science fiction material the company has. I think now that there's the Tomorrowland DVD, Disney should show the Epcot presentation video here as it is very fitting and very enjoyable.

Liberty Tree Tavern is great! I fully recommend it!

At Epcot, my favorites are Restaurant Akershus, San Angel Inn, The Rose and Crown, and Teppanyaki Dining Room.

AT California Adventure I liked eating at the Wharf. There was a good Sandwhich shop and also a good Mexican Resturant

At DisneyLand I liked the Mexican Resturant by Big Thunder Railroad
Dark Knight Rulez
