Rank and Rate the Disneyland attraction...

Post by Timon/Pumbaa fan »

Well since we constantly do this with the animated classics, I say we should do this by parks now since we have a new theme park forum! :D However you CAN'T rate extinct attractions, only rides that are currently open(Mr. Lincoln being an exception). Here are mine:

2. Haunted Mansion 10/10
3. Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye Eye 10/10
4. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride 10/10
5. Space Mountain 10/10 (It's BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!)
6. Pirates of the Caribbean 9/10
7. Jungle Cruise 8/10 (I don't remember enjoying this ride as much as my last trip!)
8. Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin 8/10
9. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 8/10
10. Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years 8/10
11. Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln 8/10
12. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters 7/10 (the one at Florida was better though)
13. Mickey's House 7/10
14. Pinocchio's Daring Journey 7/10
15. Disneyland® Railroad 7/10 (actually a very nice ride)
16. Sailing Ship Columbia 7/10
17. Splash Mountain 6/10 (the one at Florida ruins my DL experience)
18. Autopia 6/10 (since I don't have a Driver's license yet, it still has some fun for me! :D)
19. Minnie's House 6/10
20. Tom Sawyer Island 6/10
21. Mad Tea Party  6/10
22. Mark Twain Riverboat 5/10

31. Disneyland® Monorail 3/10
32. "It's a Small World" 3/10
33. Starcade 3/10
34. Tarzan's Treehouse 3/10
35. Matterhorn Bobsleds 3/10 (wasn't impressed with my last visit)
36. Donald's Boat 3/10
37. Astro Orbitor 2/10
38. Dumbo the Flying Elephant 2/10
39. Peter Pan's Flight 2/10
40. Snow White's Scary Adventures 2/10
41. Goofy's Bounce House 2/10
42. Alice in Wonderland 1/10 (a REALLY close 0 however!)
43. Chip 'n Dale Treehouse 0/10
44. Innoventions 0/10 (THIS IS DISNEY!!! :headshake:)

That's my list! I haven't seen Fantasmic all the way through, but I have seen it at MGM Studios, which I thought was unimpressive! I don't remember the Disney Gallery that much.

Are we also rating California Adventure attractions, or just Disneyland attractions? I'll do both-and since I don't have young kids, I don't really rate kid's ride's that don't have at least some appeal to adults as well.

Disneyland

Disneyland Railroad 6/10
The Walt Disney Story 5/10
Enchanted Tiki Room 2/10
Jungle Cruise 5/10 Needs an update, badly!
Indiana Jones Adventure 10/10 Great stuff
Tarzan's Treehouse 5/10
Pirates of the Caribbean 10/10 Best attraction at Disneyland!
Haunted Mansion 10/10
Splash Mountain 8/10
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh 4/10 Better than the Country Bear Jamboree, but that's not saying much
Mark Twain/Sailing Ship Columbia 3/10 The Columbia is slightly more interesting
Tom Sawyer's Island 2/10 See the island from the Mark Twain or Columbia if you must
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 7/10
Pinocchio's Daring Journey 5/10
Snow White Scary Adventures 5/10
Peter Pan's Flight 8/10
Mr Toad's Wild Ride 8/10
Alice in Wonderland 7/10
Mad Tea Party 6/10
Dumbo For Kids Only
King Arthur's Carousel For Kids Only
Storybook Land Canal Boats 7/10
Casey Jr Circus Train 4/10 The Canal Boats are better
It's a Small World 6/10
Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin 6/10
Gadget's Go-Coaster For kids only
Goofy's Bounce House and Donald's Boat For Kids Only
Mickey's House 2/10 Really just a photo op
Matterhorn Bobsleds 10/10
Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters 10/10 Addicitive, you keep wanting to ride to improve your score!
Star Tours 6/10 Needs an update, it's gotten rather stale
Space Mountain 10/10 Back and better than ever!
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience 6/10
Innoventions 4/10
Autopia For kids only
Monorail 5/10 As an attraction, it's no big deal. But it's great transportation to Downtown Disney.
Fantasmic 10/10 Still one of the best Disney nighttime shows

California Adventure

Soarin' over Calfornia 10/10
Grizzly River Run 8/10
Redwood Challenge Trail 1/10
California Dreams (or whatever the Whoopi Goldberg film's called) 3/10
Golden Zephyr 3/10 No big deal
Jumping Jellyfish For kids only
Mulholland Madness 7/10
Mailboomer 8/10 Not as good as Tower of Terror, but still a darn good drop ride
Orange Buzz (or whatever it was called) 4/10 A carny swing ride inside a huge fake orange. Okay, but don't wait in line for it.
Sun Wheel 8/10
California Screamer Won't rate, was closed when I visited. But it did look like it would be a lot of fun.
It's Tough to be a Bug 6/10 A fun show, with a few surprises
Bug's Land attractions-For kids only
Disneyland Animation 2/10
Alladin 5/10
Muppets 3-D 7/10
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10/10
Disney's Electrical Parade 10/10 The best nighttime Disney event, bar none! And yes, that even includes Fantasmic and the fireworks displays. And sorry, Disney, you may have placed this in California Adventure, but it's still the Main Street Electrical Parade!

I'll offer a brief explanation where applicable. Hard to rank cold I think. I may have missed the odd small ride (like the Carousel), but I've been on pretty much everything else at least once.

Indiana Jones Adventure 10/10 - Went on this twice on my recent trip. Definitely one of the most fun.
Pirates of the Caribbean & Haunted Mansion 10/10 - Hard to separate the two. Both are pure Disney magic.
Fantasmic 9/10 - Does this count? Best night-time show I've seen!
Splash Mountain 8/10 - More Disney magic! People wait for the Splash, but the best part is still the Song of the South animatronics. I would like to see some kind of restraint or seat belt installed.
Jungle Cruise 8/10 - First thing I rode on my last trip, and was as fun as my 18 year old memories of my previous trip. I actually jumped when the piranhas popped up! Corny jokes aside, this is a great introduction to Disney and sets the mood for the rest of the day. Classic Disneyland.
Matterhorn Bobsleds 8/10 - You know, I was expecting this to be much faster and loopier, given how imposing the mountain is. That said, I think the ride maintains more of a sense of fun as a result of the more traditional speed, making this a fun ride for almost everyone.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 8/10 - A terrific roller-coaster style ride, simply because it thrills without making you sick to your stomach.
Mad Tea Party 7/10 - It spins! You control partial spinnage! How can you not like it?
Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin 7/10 - On par with above for many of the same reasons, plus it has the trippy elements of Pooh's ride.
Space Mountain 7/10 - Not as thrilling as I imagined it would be. Still loads of fun and forboding enough to scare off my girlfriend.
Star Tours 7/10 - If I had only gone on this once, it would have ranked higher. However, I don't think it has the re-ride value that some other rides do. I probably only like it as much as I do because of the Star Wars connection.
It's a Small World 7/10 - It is indeed. I'm still singing the song.
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience 7/10 - My first experience with an "interactive" 3D show, and still my fondest. I must've seen at least half a dozen of these things on the trip, and it still remains my fave.
Disneyland: First 50 Years 7/10 - Movie was great, but I loved all the bits and pieces outside even more! A collector's wet dream.
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters 7/10 - An interactive dark ride! Awesome!
Disneyland Railroad 6/10 - If, like me, you aren't expecting the Primeval world, this is one of the most surprising rides. It is also another end of day relaxer.
Autopia 6/10 - I don't drive at home, but it was a nice novelty. My driver's licence is valid until the year 3000.
Peter Pan's Flight 6/10 - By far the best 'dark ride' for offering something a little different via the 'floating' sensation.
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh 6/10 - This ranks a bit higher for me than most people, simply because I love the characters so much. The ride is also an acid trip.
Casey Jr's Circus Train 6/10 - What can I say? I love the train, I love the song. Casey rocks.
Enchanted Tiki Room 6/10 - One of the last things I tried, but loved it. Has that ol' Disney charm coupled with an incredibly catchy tune.
Mark Twain 6/10 - Great for that point in the day when you just want to relax. It's no Jungle Cruise, but it's nice. I didn't get to do the Canoes or Columbia, as neither were functioning while I was there.
Mr Toad's Wild Ride 6/10 - Incredibly overrated, but I can understand the popularity. I love the storybook dark rides, and this is definitely one of the best.
Monorail - See comments for Railroad, minus the surprise element. Nice to travel through/near California Adventure and the Hotels though!
Dumbo 5/10 - Silly but fun. It might be for kids, but the little "lift" controls give it a little more interactivity than most.
Pinocchio's Daring Journey 5/10
Snow White Scary Adventures 5/10

Probably the least exciting of the dark rides, but I have to admit to having a fondness
Gadget's Go Coaster 5/10 - I really enjoyed this for some reason.
Astro Oribiter 4/10 - Same as Dumbo without the cool character association. Also, carriages are smaller and a very cramped if sharing with a loved one.
Innoventions 4/10- ASIMO is definitely a highlight, but the rest is decidedly non-Disney and could be found almost anywhere (especially the computer games).
Alice in Wonderland 4/10 - Dude, it's a trip! But not all that great in the long run..
Tom Sawyers Island & Tarzan's Treehouse 3/10 - About the same for me. Once you are there, very little to do unless you are under 10. Tarzan gets props for the inclusion of all of the animation stuff and a few bits of trivia, but it is fairly unexciting.
Donald's Boat 3/10 - See above.

I'm sure I've forgotten a few. Will update if I think about it...
