Timon and Pumba in Stand By Me

Post by Chernabog »

Also I think they should have included the short cartoon Timon and Pumba in Stand By Me on the Lion King DVD, but I hope you know that it´s availible on the videorelease The Best of Roger Rabbit.
This little short is almost forgotten already - a shame! :x

I expect these to show on the Lion King 1 1/2 DVD. (There's a few isn't there?) It does after all have "music videos" listed on the PR
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

It should have been on the Tom and Huck DVD, just as Tummy Trouble should have been on Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Of course both of those movies got crap DVD treatment here.

Wasn't there also a "Lion Sleeps Tonight" music video that they did? I think it aired as a part of the T&P tv series... *shrug*

Yeah, I agree, I think they should have added these three songs on The Lion King DVD:

Stand by Me
Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!
The Lion Sleeps Tonight

If anyone wants me to e-mail them these three songs Private Message me and leave your E-mail address, or e-mail me at:

The DVD should have had more 1994 features than it did.

Timon and Pumbaa's "Stand By Me" cover song...

Post by creamdog »

I remember I bought a video years ago with some cartoons of Timon and Pumba. On that tape there was a musicvideo for a cover of Timon and Pumba from the song "stand by me". I was pretty funny and the animation looked very good too. Better than the tv-cartoonstuff anyway. Does anybody know if that songs is put somewhere on DVD as an extra or something?

I assume you're referring to Timon and Pumbaa's 1995 theatrical short "Stand By Me", which played in theaters before Tom and Huck. It has not been released to DVD in the US, but it is available on one of three "Timon & Pumbaa" DVD volumes released in Region 2 (more on those here).

The disc it is on is called...

"Around the World in Timon & Pumbaa" in the UK:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... tedisne-21

"Timon & Pumbaa: Les Globe-Trotters" in France:
http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B ... tguidet-21

and "Rund um die Welt mit Timon & Pumbaa" in Germany:
http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B ... imaguid-21

But, like I said, it's called "unavailable" in Region 1, at least for the time being.
