You're bound to be disappointed. The extended cut simply retains the "When Love is Gone" musical sequence that was excised from the movie before it heads to theaters. It has been retained for TV airings and other home video releases without being promoted as "extended." The extended version runs 89 minutes; the theatrical cut is listed as running 86. Henson talked about it a bit in the commentary, which I mentioned in my review of the fullscreen-only disc.That1GuyPictures wrote:I didn't know that there was an extended version of the film!
Do you have any info on a new running time, or what might be included in this new cut? This is the first that I've ever heard about it.
It's a shame that some really great extras are being lost due to the inclusion of yet another fullscreen presentation. I think Disney should have gone the 2-disc route or just left off fullscreen altogether (those fullscreen-only versions have already been available on DVD for three full years).
