WDT Amazon Ship Dates
I just checked the status of my Treasures order and they are showing a ship date of December 11
What's that all about
Is anyone else seeing a delayed ship date

In an effort to support this site I do on occasion order via the Amazon link but in the past I have always received the WDT's within 2 or 3 days from release
However this time Amazon is showing a ship date 5 days after release, so I might cancel the order if I don't see that the order has shipped on the 6th

I just e-mailed Amazon to ask why the delay, and I told them if it was being delayed I would probably cancel and buy them elsewhere

Once Amazon has 'em, they'll ship them. The only instances when they've been slow on the whole to ship out new releases is when Disney is slow to get the product to them, and in those case they've usually still had the DVDs faster than actual stores, which were experiencing the same delays. I didn't even get my review copies until Thursday night.
As of Thursday, none of the Amazon Treasures orders placed through this site had shipped yet. Then yesterday, about 1/6th of the orders went out. Keep in mind that Amazon usually has it pretty well planned so that both international orders and domestic orders will arrive as close to release date as possible. If your order hasn't shipped out yet, it's quite likely it won't need as much time to get there (i.e. you're in the US or Canada).
I'd recommend waiting to see if the status on your order doesn't change to "shipped" or "shipping soon" by next Monday or so before cancelling. If it hasn't, you'll still be able to cancel. It's quite likely that retailers (who have traditionally placed minimal orders for the Treasures) may not have copies available to buy on Tuesday either.

Luke, I know that we need to support this site by making purchases through various partners........but most of the major retailers will have more than enough of the WDT on Tuesday. I am with most of the people here, why wait for even a day or two if you can make the short trip to Best Buy or Target or Wal-Mart and pick up your Tins Tuesday A.M. and be playing them when the mailman comes by.
It is one thing to place orders for older titles and those that you are in no hurry to get, but for pre-orders, if they can't ship them so you get them the day they are released, what is the use? Another reason why I don't buy on line anymore. I want my product now, not tomorrow or the next day.

Actually, I think most people here would be willing to wait a day or two to save $15 or so with Amazon's large discounts, another $7 or so on tax, the time and gas it takes to drive to Best Buy or Target or Wal-Mart, find the tins, and wait on line, especially those who are not in the US or can't get to a real store easily. But, yes, we know where you stand on online purchasing. Thanks for sharing again.dvdjunkie wrote:I am with most of the people here, why wait for even a day or two if you can make the short trip to Best Buy or Target or Wal-Mart and pick up your Tins Tuesday A.M. and be playing them when the mailman comes by.

Well Amazon responded to my inquiry about the ship dates and they said it will ship as it should
And to keep me happy and not cancel the order they are providing next day delivery at no additional cost

Good to hear that I am not the only one who is waiting for Amazon to ship.
Mine tend to ship early, due to international shipping. My Sin City has already shipped, so I got worried to see that the Treasures were still not moving.
Will begin to panic later this week

My order for all the Walt Disney Treasure still says December 16 estimated date.
Also Gargoyles S2V1, Rescue Rangers and DuckTales are still estimated for December 13.
At least they will be shipped to me and I don't have to make line to buy them.

Mine are now "Shipping Soon", which is a relief.Tony wrote:Mine shipped on Saturday.... I was surprised they entered the shipping process so early as lately all my DVD's have been shipped after the release date.
Anyways, just as an aside, welcome back, T.
Now get your arse over to the Parks forum and give us a trip report! Hope it was a good one!
