Its gone!! Its finally gone!!
Though we shouldnt get too excited, im guessing it could emerge around christmas time and will almost definatly be back around the new year...

How the hell did American Pie: Band Camp get to #4? It has 1 of the original actors in it, and they even create a totally pathetic Stiflers brother, talk about dragging something on waaay to much.....

Desperate Housewives didnt stick around for very long, i doubt Lost will, but i do think alot of people are waiting for the complete series set, anyone know when it will get released since part 2 is released in January, or are they just releasing them in parts? :?

Don't say things like that! We need to be optimistic, for the good of man kind! :D I must say, there are some good movies on that list for a change.

Maybe its not there this week because of stock problems, heck it could return this week.

Also Madagascar comes out in a couple of weeks, i wonder how long it will take to get rid of that.

Valiant at #2? Im shocked, very shocked. I expected it to go top10 because its a kiddies film and CGI. But to get to that position, the same position Cinderella did, well i just cant work out how since i havent seen much promotion for it and the cover looks more like an advertisement than a dvd cover.

Cinderella Dropping Down the Charts?

Post by Disney Duster »

I really can't believe Walt Disney's Cinderella is dropping down the charts so fast, and so much! The people in the United Kingdom can't appreciate one of Walt Disney's original hand-drawn animated classics? It's number 16 while Valiant is number 5?! :(

Yeah i agree, but did she fall, or was she pushed! I think the majority of people (at least where i live) bought it in the first few days, there was a large crowd in my local asda.

I wouldn't say it's doing as bad as you're picturing it to be; as Enchantress said a lot of people bought it street week as it was available for around £12.99 in some places. Also, for it to be a previously released title and still be in the top 20 after a month is a big achievement, especially a Disney title (Disney UK gives little publicity for some of their classics in England, sadly ). Plus, I'm sure it'll shift more copies in the runup to Christmas (the Christmas shopping rush is starting round about now), as well as post Christmas sales.

Thank you, Enchantress and Wonderlicious! You're right. I forgot about the Christmas shopping, too. Disney actually wanted to release Cinderella, considered one of their bigger Platinums(as opposed to the less endorsed Spring Platinums) in the Fall because it was closer to Christmas. That's why The Little Mermaid, considered to be a bigger hit film than Lady and the Tramp, will be released in the Fall, too. Let's hope that the Disney classics do keep selling at the top of the charts, and that Cinderella will go a back up toward the top this Christmas.

Charts for week ending 27/11/05

Well it's a bit of weird week with a couple a re entries. "Winter Wonderland" (don't buy it, it's just a crappy compilation of wintery scenes from various films and shorts) makes the almost expected pre Christmas chart return at 12, most likely due to the fact that it is ridiculously cheap everywhere because it's so crap. Also "Santa Clause 2" re enters the chart at 16. Cinderella continues to perform better than either of the previous 3 platinum editions however, clinging on at a highly respectable 22. (Bambi dropped out of the top 40 after 2 weeks and Aladdin didn't even make the top 40 when released.) Next week sees the releases of Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and Herbie Fully Loaded, all of which I would expect to make the top 20.

The one in green is just for Netty ;)

I'm suprised NBC is still in the top 40, thought it'd be a halloween only thing. Good to know Cinderella is still there :P . I'd be very suprised if TS doesn't make it into the top 15, or top 10 for that matter!!

Wahooo! Shark Tale is back in the charts after I bought a copy the other week! Good to know I can make a difference!

Santa Clause 2 is selling for £4.99 in Woolies with any purchase over £5.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Lol yeah  , but I don't remember it being this popular past Christmases, that might just be me though, it probably was  . Considering there are other movies which have a more cheerful Christmas theme in them, which are not in the top 40, it just seemed a bit odd.

I think that's got more to do with the fact that it's never been on offer all over the place from as little as £5.99 before, rather than popularity.
