Timon/Pumba fan, the difference is that the 2-Disc Collectors Edition contains these additional items, that the 2-Disc Special Edition does not:

1.) Collectible tin packaging
2.) 20-page reproduction of original 1933 souvenir program
3.) King Kong memorable scenes postcards
4.) Vintage King Kong poster mail-in offer

Otherwise, the discs are the same.

I hope this helps!

I really enjoyed the movie. I thought it was out of this world. I was hooked through the whole thing. While many people say that the ending sucked, because it was "sugar coated", as a whole, it entertained me. I think that if it would have had a "not so happy" ending, it would be a pretty darned perfect movie. The special effects were AWESOME, and I can say that this film made me feel that if aliens really do exist, and they are anything like this, I don't want them to pay us a visit!'

It's been a while since I've seen it, since I saw it the day it came out in theaters, but I would say an 8 out of 10.

I chose King Kong Set (The one with the movie and the two sequels) even though both King Kong and Seinfeld 5 shipped Friday.

We will be picking up War of the Worlds. I have two coupons, each for $3.00 off that I will be using. We are going to buy one copy for ourselves and another for my father-in-law for Christmas.

Nothing again for me this week. I saw War of the Worlds in the theatre and it was ok once, but I don't think I'd watch it again.

I got Polar Express 2 Disc Edition, but there was no insert that tells the chapter titles or more details about the special features. And I'll have to return to Best Buy to get my Lithograph cause they didn't have them in yet.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Picked up War of the Worlds Two-Disc Limited Edition at Best Buy. Used my 3-dollar off coupon and a $5 gift card to knock the price down a little. Also it came with a 160 page book (for Reward Zone members only) that is quite a nifty thing to have.

Also got Polar Express Deluxe 2-Disc Edition Widescreen and it came with a Lithograph for all Best Buy Reward Zone members.

Not on the list to vote for, but one that I also got was CSI: Miami Season Three. One of the better television series to own at this time.

I also got "King Kong" 2-discer, and "Home Improvement Season Three".

The one in the tin or the one in the standard DVD case?

I couldn't find King Kong anywhere at Wal-Mart, but I did find the tin version at Coconuts for $24.99, though I'm not sure if I should buy it (I'd rather just get the regular DVD case version).

Although I preordered The Polar Express: Single-Disc Edition (widescreen, of course) around August, it probably won't arrive until Monday. But the first DVD to get into my hands will be War of the Worlds: Widescreen Edition - because I dislike the digipak packaging for the Limited Edition. Plus, the holographic slipcover for the single-disc sure is pretty...

Warner has been doing that for some time now, not putting in chapter inserts for their 2 disc editions. I think the last 2 disc edition that Warner did chapter inserts was Troy. Warner still does inserts for their TV-DVD sets, as well as their bigger, 4 disc titles, like Ben-Hur and Gone with the Wind.

Well, my Mom just purchased The Polar Express (Widescreen), but, I might bring it in for the Two-Disc. To anyone who owns the Special Edition - post in the "Which Polar Express DVD Edition" thread...
