Madagascar - a great movie!!

Post by MICKEYMOUSE »

Before I start I want to say I have not seen this movie yet, but will buy this movie this week, and i'm really excited for it. Now the 3 Mega stores BEST BUY, TARGET, and CIRCIUT CITY (don't know about WAL-MART, post if there is) are having exclusive FREE items with the purchace of this DVD. **Items are limited. Here is the list, The DVD looks like it will sell for $16.99 at all stores (post if you see it cheaper in an ad)

Best Buy

Free Lithograph **Need to be a RewardZone member

Target

Free (4) Wristbands (looks like the LIVESTRONG bands)

CircuitCity

Free Alarm Clock

I shop at Best Buy everyweek, or for all my DVD needs, because of have the rewardzone card, and it the best card, but it is hard which one to choose from. I am definitly staying away from the Target offer, becuase I am not 5 years old, but the alarm clock looks pretty neat. I have a Cinderella Lito, but it's in my closet. I was just wondering for whoever gets this DVD this week which offer/store will you go to?

Wal-Mart ( )
"Madagascar - Walmart Exclusive" contains "Madagascar" and Bonus Disc.

"Madagascar" - When four pampered animals from New York's Central Park Zoo accidentally find themselves shipwrecked on the exotic island of Madagascar, they discover it really is a jungle out there! Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett Smith headline an all-star cast of hilarious animals, including a quartet of mischievous penguins and legions of lemurs, led by the outrageous King Julien. A roaring good time, "Madagascar" is "a great family film" (Joel Siegel, Good Morning America), that you'll go wild for again and again! "Walmart Exclusive" -

Bonus includes "The Penguins Whacked-Out Holiday DVD." The Penguins in a Christmas Caper. Music, Games and much more!

DVD ROM, Including The Penguins in a Christmas Caper. Music, Games and much more! Contains:

Packaging Type is Side-By-Side.
It only appears to be for the FULL FRAME disc though.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I think you got mixed up, as Circuit City has the clock, and Target has the wristbands. Also I must add Toys R Us, which is giving out a free Madagascar watch when you get the dvd.

With that said, Tuesday morning I'm heading out to Circuit City to get the dvd and clock. Madagascar was the first movie we took our son to, and he really loved it. His birthday is coming next month and it will make a great gift.

I'm wondering if K-Mart or Media Play are giving away anything for Madagascar this week. Though K-Mart mostly just gives away boxes of fruit snacks.

The Wal-Mart exclusive is not a freebee. You have to pay a couple of bucks extra for it. I am trying to decide if I want that or the Litho from Best Buy

Looks like I will be getting three copies of the movie just to get the goodies. And the Wal-Mart bonus disc comes with both the "FoolScreen" and "Widescreen" versions, and does cost a couple of bucks extra. $15.87 for the disc by itself, $18.87 for the side-by-side bonus disc.

And yes, it is Circuit City that has the Alarm Clock. That is a necessity when you have eight grandkids to come up with different Christmas gifts for. This will be a highlight.

And RewardZone members at Best Buy get another beautiful Lithograph. It better be better than the "Star Wars" one was.

Hasting's Entertainment Superstores have Madagascar coming with a red band on the top mentioning the Penguin's Christmas Caper. To anyone who's knowledgable in Hasting's know if it's the same short or something different, as Hasting's has it listed for an unknown price

I'm not knoledgable in Hasting's but it is the same short. It was shown if you went and saw Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit in theaters. Everytime I see the Madagascar DVD commercial (I REALLY want the DVD but I need the money for Christmas presents).

You did not need to add the "5 years old" part to that, quite immature, evan though it pales in comparison to circuitcity's offer. I know a lot of people who have bought livestrong bracelets and the money you pay for it actually goes toward a good cause hint hint. I've seen a lot of people older than 5 wearing them.

MADAGASCAR A GREAT MOVIE

So I bought this DVD today, never watching it ever. I popped it in my DVD player, and watched the movie, and it is a great movie. All the characters are lovable!!! I have enjoyed every Dreamwork movie made from the creators of Shrek (Shrek, Sherk 2, Sharke Tale, and now Madagascar). There all great movies, and poeple that don't like them are very closed mindind, and are probably really into Disney. Anyways this is a great movie, and now they are coming with a new one set for summer 2006, don't know if it's the creators of Sherk or not. They have it a preview of the movie forgot the name right now, but it has a great cast, and it funny, and adorable!!! I love Dreamwork work, not as great as pixar, but right up there.

Bro you got it all wrong. I didn't say that the LIVESTRONG wrsitband were for a child. On the contrary, I own like 3 or them, because it goes to a good cause. I wore it for like a month, then I saw the whole world wearing look a likes. Now everyone, and everywhere you goes sells different ones, some for good cause (which I don't mind), and some for pure money. I just think that the Madagascar ones a more for a child. That is what I ment by the statement.

It had its moments, but it really wasn't anything fantastic, IMO. Predictable, too predictable that it was boring and eye rolling for the most part. The chimps were pretty funny and I kinda liked Melman, but it was an "eh" movie for the most part.

I think a lot had to do with they were trying just too hard with this movie. Shrek's humor seemed so natural. The humour was often adult, but it seemed so well placed and fit perfectly. While this one, they seemed to try just too hard to get back that Shrek aspect of writing humor. Much of it seemed out of place, or put in last minute. Like it was a sidenote, yet they pushed it loudly. While Shrek's adult humor was done so lightly, but ever so effective.

I got the DVD with the extra penguins DVD from Walmart for my daughter. I only watched the movie, didn't bother yet with any extras.

A debatable argument there, MICKEYMOUSE.

Let's have a little logic game here...

Assuming that MICKEYMOUSE's statement is all facts, then these are the facts:

1. Dreamworks Movies are all great movies.
2. People that don't like Dreamworks are very close-minded.
3. People that don't like Dreamworks really like Disney.

Therefore, we can conclude:
1. People that really like Disney don't like Dreamworks.
2. People that really like Disney are very close-minded.
3. People that like Dreamworks must then be open-minded.

We can assume from the facts that:
1. If a Dreamworks Movie does not do well at the box office, it is still a great movie.
2. If a person is open-minded, he must like Dreamworks.
3. If a person is open-minded, he must not like Disney, since only people who are close-minded like Disney.
4. If a person likes Dreamworks, he must not like Disney, since people who like Disney must not like Dreamworks.

What's wrong with these conclusions and assumptions?

Well, not everyone thinks the same. So just because one person dislikes Dreamworks but likes Disney doesn't mean everyone else who's a Disney fan thinks like him. Likewise, if one person is a Dreamworks fan but hates Disney, not every Dreamworks fan will also hate Disney.

So the lesson here is...

Don't assume anything about people as a whole. It only makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me".

Well said Escapay.

I personally don't care WHO the makers are, so long as its GOOD. I love Shrek, Prince of Egypt and Spirit. But didn't like Antz, Shark Tale, or Madagascar.

That said...I love Lion King, Bambi, and Beauty and the Beast. But I didn't like Home on the Range, Pinocchio, or Atlantis.

So according to your logic MICKEYMOUSE am I a Disney fan who hates Dreamworks or a Dreamworks fan that hates Disney, because obviously I can't decide which company I like....Oh wait, that's right, I only care about the the CONTENT of a movie, not the production company.

Today I didn't buy Madagascar instead I got Alien vs Predator and Friends Season 10 since Costco didn't have Sound of Music: 40th Anniversary so I'll go to Best Buy tomorrow to get it.
Planning on getting Madagascar and War of the Worlds (2005).
But I don't know what edition to get from War of the Worlds (2005) Limited Edition or Collector's Edition.
The Simpsons Season 11 Buy it Now!

Fox Sunday lineup:

8:00 The Simpsons
8:30 King of the Hill
9:00 Family Guy
9:30 American Dad

woah!! You guys took it so personal it's kind of SICK!!! I just mentioned 4 movies, that people have the BIG debates about!! Which are Sherk 1 and 2, Shark Tale, and Madagascar. I'm not going to write a whole book of LOGICS like Escapay did, becuase frankly everybody has their opinions. I am sticking to it, people that didn't like these movies are close minded. Nuff said. Let's put an end to it. I hvae my opinions, and you have your opinions.

Dude, I know War of the Worlds (2005) comes out next week.
All I said was I'm getting both WotW(2005) and Madagascar next week.
Also I don't know what edition to get from War of the Worlds(2005).

Talk about calling the kettle black.

So we are close minded but you are the one who's feels that if you don't like some Dreamworks films it makes you a Dreamworks hater? And you say WE are closeminded? You put Mickey to shame. He'd smile and be more undertstanding and open minded then that. Please, keep your obsessive fanboyness to yourself. Don't spread it about and then get uptight because people point out how ridiculous your statement is.

ANYWAYS....

MMP, best to buy Madagascar first, pull out the $3 coupon for War of the Worlds and then buy that :) Also a coupon for Shrek 1, Shrek 2 OR Shark Tale
