Ultimate Disney 2005 Secret Santa - WISH LIST Thread

Post by Luke »

Thirty-three forum members are participating in this year's Forum Secret Santa. All random assignments have been made and you should be finding out who you will be buying presents for in the next day or two.

This thread is designed to help the person who will be getting you a present to know your interests and of some specific items you might like to receive. If you have a list of DVDs you own, you may want to post a link to that so your Secret Santa can consider getting you something you don't have that they think you'd like. If you're in the United Kingdom and prefer to have Region 2 DVDs, make that clear and perhaps post links to some e-tailers you recommend. Or you could even just say a little bit about yourself (your age, hobbies or favorites) that could spark some gift ideas.

Post as many or few items as you'd like. Remember that the recommended amount to spend on this is $20, and while there's freedom to go a little over that if you can/want to, you may very well just be getting one thing - be it a DVD, book, CD, or something else.

If you have any additional questions that you think might apply to everyone, feel free to post them here. And remember once you have your assigned recipient to keep that a secret. Thanks to all who are participating!

Because I'm a selfish hog, I'll go first. Here's my DVD wishlist:

http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html? ... &id=aiwkid

And if you really love me and are so rich that 100 bucks is basically like 20 to you...

Click!

Of course, I'm not holding my breath on that one. :P If you do wish to get me something that's not a DVD, anything (else) Alice-related would be nice. You wouldn't have to worry about getting me something I already have since the only Alice merchandise I have is the DVD, the soundtrack, the Gameboy game, and a different snowglobe.

If that proves to be too difficult (which it may be), I'm also a Pooh and Harry Potter fan. Merchandise from those two franchises should prove to be a bit easier to come across than for Alice. I'm easy to please, though, so anything I get will be greatly appreciated. :D

Since I lurk more than I post, I guess I should say a little bit about myself. I'm a big fan of The Gargoyles and the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. My favorite movie is Lady and the Tramp. Some of my favorite Disney cartoon characters are: Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Dopey, Grumpy, Tigger, Captain Hook, Lady, Tramp, Belle, Beast, Simba, Stitch, and all the Gargoyles. And I collect Disney movie posters, there's a poster thread somewhere around here where I listed the ones I have. Here's a link to <A HREF="http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/regis ... WE21UD">my wish list at Amazon</A> - feel free to pick something off of it or to ignore it completely. I hope this helps my secret santa out some.

This is my first year and I'm excited to be a part of this. Here goes....

Of course I love Disney. My favortite Disney animated movie is Peter Pan. I also love Winnie the Pooh. Garfield is my all time favorite non-Disney character.

I collect pigs. I have a curio cabinet full of them in my living room. I also collect collectible Barbies. I have 100+ in a room, all still in the box. I've been collecting them since I was a wee little girl. I collect postage stamps as well. I have quite a few and am currently organizing them to go in albums.

My favorite music is country. Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry, and Martina McBride are my favorites. I have all of their cds, except what's been out for the past 6 months or so....I haven't been buying too many cds.

I have a link to the DVDs I own. I love romance and comedy. I also love movies with vampires and stuff like that.

That's all I can think of right now. I hope this will help who ever is chosen to shop for me :)

Here's my list... Have fun. :D

A lil bit about me... well I like cars, hunting, horseback riding, and drawing. Any one of these will do but if you come up with anything else... well I will still think it's very thoughtful.

Ahhh the List...

Happy Holidays!!!

Whee! This should prove to be quite exciting this year - if everyone cooperates of course. ;) Hope to have my list up sometime soon. ^_^

Well, the Secret Santa Wish List thread is up, and so is my wish list. Here we go. As I presume that my Secret Santa will be located in Region 1, I'll limit myself to Region 1 DVDs (don't worry, I have a multi-region player), which will probably be superior to the Region 2 equivalent, or not available here. If my SS isn't located in Region 1, simply import one of the DVDs that I have listed (possibly from the quick and efficient, though only open to the UK Play USA or Loaded 247.)

For packaging, I don't mind what you do, but I'd say a normal box with a small message or card and the gift both inside would do alright. So, after this rambling, here's my wish list...

Animation DVDs:
Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers: Volume 1
Duck Tales: Volume 1
Fun and Fancy Free: Gold Collection Edition
Make Mine Music: Gold Collection Edition
Saludos Amigos: Gold Collection Edition
The Sword in the Stone: Gold Collection Edition

The Live Action DVDs:
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Special Edition
The Love Bug: Special Edition
Pollyanna: Vault Disney Edition
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory: Special Edition (Widescreen version only)

I don't want to be a pain in the you-know-what so I won't give you a 100-ft list of what I want. A little about me: A 15 year old guy (turning 16 this month! Drivers Licenece time!) who likes to have fun and loves basketball. My favorite movie is The Lion King (not something new) and my current interest for DVDs is the soundtracks. Love to watch a movie in my home theater that blows me away. For that reason, my wish list is as follows:

1-) Terminator 2: Extreme Edition
2-) Pulp Fiction: Collector's Edition

And that's about it!

I only make use of the "Wish list, <a href="http://dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=3&id=r423k">Wish list</a>"...because it's more of a "to buy" list. Notice, I only put Julie Andrews on there!

Of course, I'm a huuuuuge fan of:
Julie Andrews
Audrey Hepburn
Cary Grant

and of course, these two:
:pooh: and :stitch:

I'll probably get into specifics later. Maybe. (Or to make it easier, my secret santa can PM me and ask me what I want. ;) haha, just kidding!) Oh, and can my secret santa send a card to add "sentimental value to the gift"?

But if you were to get Krystal a DVD, double check the <a href="http://dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?id=r ... Collection[/b]</a> (please) so I don't get copies. :) *ahem: romance comedy.

Ahh well, it doesn't matter what you get me. Really! I appreciate anything, especially a Christmas card attached to the gift. (hint!) "Easy to please in a materialistic sense", says Ryan.

So, Secret Santa, you have it easy! :D

As of this moment, all 33 assignment e-mails have gone out to the e-mail addresses participants signed up with. Sometimes, it takes a little while but all should be turning up soon. If for some reason, anyone didn't get theirs, drop me a line.

Make sure you post your wish list here and once the first gift is received, someone can make a "Post when you receive" thread. Once again, the goal date to send out by is <b>December 9</b> and the goal amount to spend is <b>$20</b>. Hope people participating have at least as much fun as the random Microsoft Works number generator and I had doing the assignments!

:pink: Woohoo! Got my assignment... now on to what I want!

This is my wishlist on dvdspot.

The ones I'm really after are Ichabod, Great Mouse Detective and the two Rescuers movies. I have never seen Ichabod or GMC and LOVED the Rescuers movies when I was younger.

My favorite movies are Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland and I love all Pooh stuff. (I have a cat named Tigger and Winnie the Pooh pot holders/oven mits :P ). I'm pretty easy to please... and as Krystal said - I'd totally appreciate a Christmas card too :D

Oh, and I also LOVE all things Disney World related. Horizons will always be my fav ride and I like the old school stuff like Carousel of Progress, World of Motion, the Land and whatnot (anything that was phased out or seems like it will be soon  ). And I'm a 23 year old grad student that has my own apartment, so I love things for around the house. (ok, around the apt). Don't know how much help this will be...

:D

[My wishlist link worked for me, but if it doesn't work for you, just click on the link in my signature for my collection, then go to wishlist. Sorry if it doesn't work!! :? ]

Well, might as well say some stuff about me:

I'm a 20-year-old college student who's unfortunately without a job at the moment so I've been whittling away my Disney money that I saved from the program. Anyways, my wishlist is very simple, and I'm trying to keep in mind the $20 price range, so I doubt my Secret Santa will send me Star Trek: TNG Seasons 1-7, lol!

Anyways, here's a medium-length wishlist of DVDs I wouldn't mind owning and have sent to me by a stranger:

First, Disney Animated Classics I don't have that are currently in print:
Saludos Amigos: Gold Collection
The Three Caballeros: Gold Collection
Make Mine Music: Gold Collection
Fun and Fancy Free: Gold Collection
Melody Time: Gold Collection
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad: Gold Collection
The Sword in the Stone: Gold Collection
The Aristocats: Gold Collection
The Rescuers
The Black Cauldron: Gold Collection
The Great Mouse Detective
The Rescuers Down Under: Gold Collection
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Hercules: Gold Collection
Fantasia 2000
Atlantis: The Lost Empire – Collector’s Edition
Treasure Planet

Next, a few old Disney Live-Action films I currently don't have:
The Happiest Millionaire
The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band
The Love Bug
Escape to Witch Mountain
Freaky Friday (1977)
Return from Witch Mountain
Tron
Tex

Other Animated Stuff:
A Bug’s Life: Collector's Edition
Aladdin: The Return of Jafar/Aladdin and the King of Thieves 2-Pack
Chip'n'Dale - Rescue Rangers: Volume One (Yeah, SRP is $34.99, but at Sam's Club it's currently $20.88 )
Walt Disney Treasures - Chronological Donald, Vol. 2 (Same deal as CnDRR, cheaper at Sam's Club and/or CostCo, and it comes out 3 days before the due date to send gifts!)

New Releases: (Widescreen, where applicable)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: 2-Disc Deluxe Edition
Lifeboat: Special Edition
Office Space: Special Edition with Flair!
Oklahoma!: 50th Anniversary Edition
The Sound of Music: 40th Anniversary Edition

TV-on-DVD: (all over $20, but just in case my Secret Santa wants to splurge)
Doogie Howser, MD: Season One
The Golden Girls: Season Three
I Love Lucy Season sets (1-5 currently available)
The Nanny: Season One (currently $17.97 at Amazon!)
Friends: Seasons Three through Ten (3-8 are $19.97 at Amazon, 9 is $22.47, and 10 is a new release)

Yay- Secret Santa is so exciting. Below is my wish list, which will be varied and long because I like to be surprised and because I realize things can be different prices depending on where you live and where you shop. The order is entirely and intentionally random. :)

(My DVD listing is here: http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html? ... wallaceunc The "owned" and "on order" sections are mostly up to date, with the exception of things not in their database and possibly a few I've forgotten. The "wish list" section isn't as up to date, thus the need for this post).

X-Files and Queer as Folk have had DRAMATIC price drops (I think they took off like $50 from the SRP), so we can only pray that all Star Trek shows will too...
