Went to Best Buy to buy the Wizard of Oz 2 disc version and all they had left were the overpriced Collector's editions. :x

So I went over to the Disney section and found the Treasures: Mickey in B&W vol 2 for $24.99. :)

All I can say is YOU LUCKED OUT on that one! I went to all the brick and mortar stores recommended to me by members here -just 2 days ago and had NO LUCK finding any tins. then a member told me that those stores would likely not have any tins - only when the tins got first released can you count on finding them there! So you really scored on that purchase!

I just bought DuckTales Vol. 1, and then found out I paid too much--after I had opened it and watched the first episode. :(

By way of explanation, so you all can take advantage if you haven't already bought it:

Deep Discount DVD is currently having their semi-annual 20% off sale, and I figured I'd grab both DuckTales and Rescue Rangers there, but they didn't have them for sale on their site. So I paid $24.99 + tax at Best Buy. Just 10 minutes ago I discovered that DuckTales and Rescue Rangers are both now listed at DDD (apparently they were erroneously excluded before) for $19.11 each after the 20% discount--no tax (if you live outside of Illinois) and free shipping.

I paid $7.44 too much for DuckTales, which would have gone nicely toward the cost of Rescue Rangers.

The moral of the story is: do your research, find the best price, then wait a few more hours, and do it again. ;)

On the bright side, DuckTales is as wonderful as I remembered. :)

The latest addition to my Disney DVD collection is Lilo & Stitch Special Edition, and Cinderella Platinum Edition will be next on my list.

Bought Chip 'n' Dale Resuce Rangers Season One and Five Mile Creek Season One at Best Buy. $22.99 for "Chip 'n' Dale" and $32.99 for "Five Mile Creek". Of course being a good Reward Zone member I also had some $10 certificates, so I ended up lowering the cost of each set by five dollars.

I never shop on line.......won't go into it, but the world's most unsafe place for a credit card number is out there in 'internet-space'. You never know who is going to hack in and get those numbers. Besides, I hate waiting for the stuff to come, and even if the shipping is free, you end up paying on the interest charges. I have not bought anything on line for at least 10 years because of a little incident with Amazon.com that cost me my credit rating and a world of time lost from work fighting a debt that I didn't owe. Buyer beware.

I only shop at Best Buy, Border's Books, Circuit City, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Target.......and between them I generally find a price that beats the internet prices anyway, and I get to take the product home and watch it, I don't have to wait for the 'eternally-slow' mail person to bring it to my home. Plus there are enough used DVD stores, Pawn Shops, and Hollywood Video and Blockbuster stores that I can wait a few days and pick up a 'like-new' copy of the movie I want if I don't want to pay the higher price. I am not that particular about having to have something the day that it comes out that I can't wait a couple of weeks and get it for half-price or less at a Used DVD store, or through the Previously Viewed sales at Blockbuster or Hollywood video.

Just bought Cinderella: PE, DuckTales: Volume 1, and Chip 'N Dale RR: Volume 1.

I found Cinderella on sale at Future Shop, but DuckTales and Chip 'N Dale were a bit harder to find (eventually found them for $24.95 at a different Future Shop - took me an hour to drive out there, but they were worth it!).

I thought about that, but unfortunately, it won't work for me--I don't feel right about doing it. Yes, if I did, Best Buy would end up with a sealed, resellable copy, and be out nothing, but it was my mistake, not Best Buy's, and I need to live up to that. If nothing else, it'll help me be a better bargain shopper in the future. :)
