Norway Stave Church Refurbishment

Post by AwallaceUNC »

Norway's Stave Church is closed through 11/14 for refurbishment, according to MousePlanet, to feature a gallery focused on Viking explorers. Norway is one of my favorite Epcot pavilions and I love the stave church. I've been known to spend the better part of an hour in there, even though it's small and there isn't much to see. The exhibits are nice, I love the music, it's a nice break from the heat, and you can meet some nice people inside. Plus the architecture is like all of the pavulion's, which means I love it.

I post this because the stave church is a very minor sub-attraction and not the kind of thing you would expect to see much refurbishment for, let alone the changing of exhibits. Just another example of the extraordinary attention to detail that one can find in the Disney parks, even to this day. Can't wait to see the new exhibit!

Norway has always been one my favorites too. The Maelstrom, while a bit too short, has some of my favorite attraction effects on the property. Family tradition requires we stop at Kringla for a smoked salmon sandwich with lefse. I'm a bit disappointed, though--on my last trip it seemed they had stopped serving Ringnes. :(
