Well I'm glad to see so many of you liked it. I have no doubt this will reap a profit. The film took $10 million on it's opening day, so hopefully over the weekend it should get to at least $35 mil.

My two cents
I just got back from seeing "Chicken Little." I guess heres my two cents about the film. I thought it was pretty well done. The original fairy tale story couldn't have been done as a feature because theres just not that much going on. I really like the way Disney adapted it for the 21st century. It was full of spoofs of other great movies ("War of the Worlds," "Indiana Jones," etc...) and was full of funny moments. I found the characters to be hysterical and loveable. My personal favorite was Runt. It had a great supporting cast. I liked the style of the characters and setting. Very Toontown like. I thought the quality of computer animation was top notch. The things that stuck out the most to me was the lights shimmering off Chicken Little's father's tail (birds have that natural grease to repell water) and the texture on the seat cushions in the movie theater scenes. Now, if you are the kind of person who doesn't like to know things before you see the movie, then I would stop reading my post now because I'm about to talk about why I don't think this film can stand the test of time. All of the true Disney classics that are widely known today had heart. They make you feel extremely happy or sad at times. "Chicken Little" tries to achieve this, but I don't feel like it did. They set up a sub plot with the father being ashamed of his son, so Chicken Little attempts for most of the movie to try to earn his fathers respect. The obvious moral is that parents should love and respect their children no matter what. While this plot was entertaining to watch, it never made me care about it. I was just watching idley. This movie seems to rely solely on it's humor and fast pace, but not much else. However, I was very entertained and laughed alot. I am going to try to make it to a digital theater to see it in 3-D, but if that doesn't happen, I more than likely won't see it again until its DVD release. I feel that this film is worth at least one viewing, wether it be at the theater or a rental 6 months down the road.

This may be a little off topic but I was just looking over the animated classics list and saw the Chicken Little was number 45 on the list. The last thing that I heard was that Disney was still deciding on whether or not to put it as 45 or put it as number 1 on a new cannon. So if it is number 45, then I would like to know when it was decided to put it in that spot. It's not really that important. I just a little curious. Thanks in advance!
well, I am a 20 year old male and went with my Dad. You really think no lone males have seen CL? Not all males have to have sex and violence.Kenai wrote:Well, according to boxofficemojo.com, Friday's estimates are 10 million so far. Jarhead isn't too far behind, appearing to be making more in less theaters. Wow, another surprise. I wonder if it were released in wide format if it would've outperrformed Chicken Little? Wow and wow.
Well, at least we know lone adult males aren't seeing CL.

Chicken Little
Staring Zach Braf gary Marshall Joan Causak
Story
Chicken Little is a kid who thinks the sky is falling.. at first nobody believes him and they all make fun of him.. but when the sky is really falling and aliens are invading its up to him to save the world.
Thoughts
Chicken Little is the first Disney Computer Animated Film that they did by themselves. Well How Did it Go? It went okay. Its No Pixar but its no Home On The Range is the way to Describe it. Chicken Little is basically one of those films like The Black Cauldron or Fox In The Hound.. It will be rememberd for a while but in two years from now people will probblay have forgottenm about it. The good thing about Chicken Little that it has pleny of laughs. I got alot of laughs throughout this movie espically from Runt and Fish out Of Water. The pop cultures were funny in this film. The other good thing about Chicken Little is that it has a good message in it unlike some films out today. Chicken Littles Problem is that the middle is slow and it only keeps it fast relle in the begginning and the end. The Cast was well. Zach Braff did a very good job as Chicken Little. The animation was okay it was not Pixar or Dreamworks but it was better than Mickeys Twice Upon a Christmas or even Madagascar. I would reccomend other CGI films this year like The Corpse Bride Or Madagascar because I found them alot better than this.
Closing Thoughts
Whilile Chicken Little Does have its Problems.. its not a awful film.. Its no Pixar but I lauged and all that matrers cause the movie trys to make people laugh.. Id reccomend renting this unless Its the 3D version Cause I heard that was good.

I can't believe it. I cannot friggin' believe it. I saw the movie today, and I had a whole review typed out and ready to post. It took me over an hour to type, and I really tried hard to make the review sound good. But, the second a was about to post it, the very SECOND, my computer does something wierd and I'm kicked off of the internet.
<------- The face of somebody very PO'ed right now.
I'm not going to type out the whole review AGAIN, but Chicken Little was a very enjoyable movie. I'll re-type my review and post it tomorrow, but take my word for it. Chicken Little, while nowhere near perfect (there are many major drawbacks), is entertaining and a good way to spend 81 minutes.
My whole review. Gone. I cannot believe it.

I just came back from seeing Chicken Little at the AMC Theater and along the way I went to Boarders, Best Buy and Wal-Mart.
I just went to Boarders to check out some comic books like Identity Crisis issue 1, Teen Titans and some other comic books.
When I go to Best Buy I got Looney Tunes - Movie Collection (Bugs Bunny/Road-Runner Movie/1001 Rabbit Tales) for $21.99 because Costco didn't have it. Went to Wal-Mart for some candies.
Okay back to Chicken Little...The Sky is falling the Sky is falling!!!!
What are you talking about oh yeah Chicken Little it was a great movie not a masterpiece like The Lion King (which was used in CL), Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast or The Little Mermaid but it did have a great storyline. This movie made me laugh out loud!!!!
I also like the character Foxy Loxy and Fish.

Chicken Little made 40.1 million! And landed in no.1. Yay for Disney for finally getting another animated no.1 at the box office, after like what...5 years? (or did L&S get a no.1 their first week too?) Good job Disney for proving the naysayers wrong. And now it has 2 weeks to make more before Goblet of Fire steals their business.
Jarhead made 28 million.
Final figures to be released Monday.

I would! I mean if you ever go to Walt Disney World or Disneyland, these charactes are quite popular! Heck the new Disneyland parade plays the song "Welcome to our Family"! And don't get me started with Stitch!Kenai wrote: Hmm....would L&S and Brother Bear considered to be hits then? They're standing the test of time well.
I think people just need to give these films time. They might not start of popular, but as time comes, they really do become classics like they deserve.
I mean look at Emperor's New Groove, disappointed in the box office, but it has become very popular in video sales and they often show it on t.v. alot!
