Is "The Great Mouse Detective" DVD worth it?

Post by Tangela »

Since the design of the cover is so much like the Rescuers (Labeless) I just thought it might be risky... Like "Why would I want to buy another stupid bad release DVD, when I can get Robin Hood, which is something I've only seen twice".

And a question, is the Spanish language track the "Castilian" version or the Mexican Spanish?

I think they should call Spain Spanish, Spanish not Castilian, and Mexican Spanish, Mexican. I get annoid when I buy a DVD with supposedly "Spanish Language Track" to find it is "Mexican Language Track" like in Sleeping Beauty...

"Un Don, Encantador..."

the transfer is really good! but the making off is grainy and short, the scrapbook is a nice addition besides that the other stuff is nothing much to be desired.

Thanks for the info MMB, I'm going to go see more about this edition on Amazon. I would go to disneydvd.com, but after The Lion King hidden editings and other supposedly "Uncuts", I don't think they are trustworthy...

funny. i was thinking about buying this movie today!

i think i saw it a few months back retailing for $22 at my best buy. since the dvd was released in 2002, we probably will not be getting an upgraded version for a few more years. i think you should buy it if you can imagine watching the movie several times. otherwise, just rent!

Is the mexican spanish track.

Spain started to make his own dubbings in 1991, with Beauty and the Beast.

For the underrateds I think there is only a Mexican track since only goodies like TLK get a Spanish remake. Anyway, in this case I don't mind if its the Mexican since I'm pretty sure that is the one they have in Spain too.

I am still reluctant about buying it... it's the extras. They don't seem too much...
