When you go to a friends house and see their collection.. ?
When you go to a friends house and see their collection of Disney DVDs do you ever get jealous if they have something you don't have and it is out of print? I know I do! 3/4 of the time they don't even know it is out of print. "Hmm..since your Little Mermaid DVD is just collection dust how about I take it off your hands for $12.00?" lol jk
Wants Muppet Babies on DVD!!
Hopefully if Duckales and Rescue Rangers sell well we will get it!! Don't forget Gummi Bears!

I don't know anyone with many Disney DVDs, the only person i know who owns one is my best friend, and that's because i bought it for her
(she did want it though)
Some of my friends borrow my DVDs though, LK2 mostly, she loves it
. There are some DVDs that people have on UD that i want, but not jealous as such

I voted no, because my collection is always larger than theirs, lol. But I guess I could be jealous at all the money they have that they don't spend towards DVD, lol.

I think that "jealous" is an awfully strong word to use. Maybe "envious" would be appropriate. But with the size of my collection and amount of Disney DVD's that I have, I have nothing to worry about.
Sometimes wonder why I have spent so much money on this habit of collecting movies, but hey, I always told my kids that I was spending their inheritance..............................lol

The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!

Well jealous is the word you use when you don't have something that someone else has and it's not impossible to obtain whereas...
Envy is a word you use when you don't have something someone else has and you can never have.
For instance, all my friends got new cars before they went to college and I didn't have one so I was jealous. However, I do have a car now and I am no longer jealous.

Well I voted yes, but the true answer is envious!
I don't consider myself much of a collector of anything, including DVDs.
When videos were big, I used to tape constantly off of AMC Movie Classics or Turner, etc. I would call that a collection because it was pretty extensive (but it was all free, just cost me video tapes) I taped because I was afraid those old 1930s and 1940s movies would stop being aired in the future. Well I was right, AMC has since changed their format and they don't show much of the really old movies. Unfortunatly I had pared down that collection over the years and now you can't even buy half the stuff I had on tape. I regret having tossed out most of the videos now.
When the industry pushed us to DVD format, I was determined not to get "sucked in" to having to buy a lot of DVDs, as it gets expensive. I figured I could just rent what I wanted to see. However in the last 2 years I have made some efforts to collect DVDs. I've collected select Film Noir titles, some old TV series (the 2 seasons of Green Acres that was released, with Leave it To Beaver on pre-order) and now I have started on the Disney animation and Treasure series. So maybe I am changing!

Well I always thought jealous meant that you were sort of mad at the person for having something you did not, and that envious was that you admired them for it...Zoltack wrote:Well jealous is the word you use when you don't have something that someone else has and it's not impossible to obtain whereas...

In my case, according to your definitions, I am still just "envious," as I cannot afford to collect on the lines of what many do here and when I saw my sister's collection of Disney animation last Friday, she had many titles that are OOP from the Platinum series. So since I can't afford to pay for the OOPs like Snow White, I guess I will have to remain envious! Of course there is always the upcoming HD format.... maybe I will get my chance to collect the coveted Snow White then!

I don't have a reason to be jealous I have almost every Region 1 Disney DVD release except the playhouse disney ones and a couple DCOM Dvd's I have not picked up yet.
I do sometimes get envious of DVD's that are released in other regions and not here. But I know eventually they will get here and I will have them.

All 44?
Well now you all got me curious- what is "all 44?" Everyone seems to know what the 44 DVDs are but I don't. Is there a place where one can see this list so I will know how close I am to obtaining this lofty goal?
