Where you are, yes, I believe so. But for us Americans, Disney called it "Tales from Avonlea", at least that's how they referred to it last DVD release and it would appear that way again here.

Welcome to the forum, riri625 and thanks for the head's up. I'm hoping we get a review copy in soon so we can verify just exactly what's going on with these four vaguely-announced, entirely-unpromoted November 8 box sets.

On the Disney Channel, it was called "Avonlea". Disney changed the title to "Tales from Avonlea" for the home video release. I do hope (the title release "Tales from Avonlea" aside) that Disney has presented the original broadcast for this upcoming DVD. And, yes, the Canadian title is "Road to Avonlea".

:P This is the best Series ever to be on Television...If you love anne...You will love Avonlea...Some of the characters are the same...and Anne is referenced many times trought out the series...You should really get the DVD sets...I recomend waiting on the Disney Version though as they are cheaper...and the sullivan releases are double sides disks which tend to scratch much easier....Try Avonlea...Im sure you will love it as much as I do. :P

That's a 2-disc set Disney released which contains 8 episodes from various parts of the series, I think. I'm not sure which were included on that, but I'm sure at least some of them will be on the First Season set, where they'll be in complete, chronological order, of course, and the rest on later seasons (assuming it sells well enough, and I'm sure it will).

tricarenee, the 2-disc that Luke is referring to is called "Tales from Avonlea: Beginnings". Disney released that DVD previously before. It consists of episodes from the show's first two seasons. Disney repackaged those "Tales from Avonlea" VHS that were released in the 90s. Here's a link to DVD Empire (click on "Box Cover" for both the front and back covers):

http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_item.a ... d=28118312

The episodes are: "The Journey Begins", "Proof of the Pudding", "The Quarantine At Alexander Abraham's", "The Materializing of Duncan McTavish", "The Witch of Avonlea", "Nothing Endures But Change", "How Kissing Was Discovered", and "Aunt Hetty's Ordeal".

"Road to Avonlea" is here (to give an example):

In Canada, "Road to Avonlea" is also referred to as "The Road to Avonlea".

Hmm. I just assumed something being in Wal-Mart would have to be Disney's standalone release. But I guess if it was a Canadian Wal-Mart (assuming such a thing exists), it could be Sullivan's high-priced season sets, hence the "Road to Avonlea" title.

Apparently there is a Wal-Mart in Canada:

I'd have to recheck, but I'm pretty sure those eight episodes on the Disney 2-disc set are all from season one, so if you own it, you already have 1/3 of the episodes on this new set, but you'll still want the whole season (assuming they release it properly).

Actually it'd be closer to 2/3, as there are only 13 episodes in the season, right?

macphoen, I found that site right after I posted too! :D

Actually...I read on a website that that DVD release had some episodes from the first two seasons on it...I dont know how acurate the data was but It was on more than one site.

I checked my season 1 set, which I happen to have hear with me, and you are right. Aunt Hetty's Ordeal, How Kissing Was Discovered, and The Materializing of Duncan McTavish are not on it, so they are presumably season 2 episodes. (They are definitely at least 3rd season, because I only have seasons 1-3 and I have all of those on DVD).
