Long leadtimes on DMC orders?

Post by PhilMo »

Has anyone recently experienced long leadtimes on DMC orders? Specifically Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, a couple of the wave 1 & 2 Treasures, etc.

incredibles, pocahontas 10th anniv. and my back pack are backordred i ordered them about 2.5 weeks ago or so.. still haven't got my shipment conf yet nor has my creditcard been charged. Maybe from the great sale they had last month?
.. The least they could do is tell it will be awhile when it is ordered ..via letter, phone call or email.. I think that would be nice of them anyway!!

I can't say definitively, as I signed up over three years ago, but I think that long of a wait is unusual. From what I remember, it was about one month at most. But, maybe I'm remembering wrong and/or maybe they're slower now. Not much help, I guess.

Thanks anyhow Luke! I am in the same boat I joined it about four years ago but can't rember how long it took then. I cancelled my membership awhile back because when I moved they kept sending the DVD's tomy ex wife and I never saw them. But I decided to give them another shot and get some of the Club exclusives can't wait to see "Tall Tale" again.

I ordered A Far Off Place on October 11th. I just got my shipping confirmation yesterday. This is the longest it has ever taken to receive a shipping confirmation. I just a lot more people are ordering because of all the promotions they are doing.

You might want to give them a call. I had once heard something about people signing up again and then DMC wouldn't send their DVDs (because you aren't supposed to re-sign up) but never told them until they called and asked. I'd call customer service if I were you.

It took me about 4 or 5 weeks for my first order.

No offense or anything, but why don't you guys just go and buy these DVDS at the store? If they take 4 to 5 weeks for shipping, why would you want to join the club? :?

I joined because there was an offer going on where you could get 4 free, one at $14.95 that counted towards commitment and then another at $9.95. I figured out that with all the deals I've gotten (incl shipping) I've only spent an average of $11 or less per DVD- and got htf ones like the TENG CE and Atlantis CE for good prices ($21.95, plus used a free shipping code), and I had also wanted Wild Hearts as well (didn't know it was being released in stores in the future).

I've found the club worth it to me, but still buy most of my DVDs from outside the club. I've gotten some good deals from the club using their offers, and I think I only have 1 more commitment title to buy in the next year and a half.

Also, the initial signup package takes WAY longer than ones after that. The orders after that take about 10 days.

If I can find a DVD cheaper in the stores, I buy it in the stores. If I can get a good deal on it in the club or it is hard to find, I get it through the club. I don't use it for all my DVDs- just to supplement my collection.

Different strokes for different folks.
