(Disappointed by R2) Lady and the Tramp ('Special Edition')
I'm a little dissapointed that R2 are only getting a "Special Edition" of Lady and the Tramp and R1 are getting a "2 Disc Special Edition", the same thing happened with Alice in Wonderland. It's not fair!

Yeah, it wouldn't make any sense if they released a 1 disc platinum, then all the other UK platinums have been 2 disc.*Andy* wrote:It will be a 2 disc. Dont worry.
Where did you hear this from Nick?

That's a shame as the only bonus you'll probably get is how Cinderella influenced American Sports.nordic wrote:Well, all the platinum editions in Norway has been 2-discs, except Cinderella, which looks like it will be a 1-disc release.Enchantress wrote: Yeah, it wouldn't make any sense if they released a 1 disc platinum, then all the other UK platinums have been 2 disc.
Even though I hated the fact of Cinderella being only 1-disc I've to slightly take my words back, because it seems to have most of the important extras as included in the 2-disc version. Of course, I don't feel happy that this is the only choice since all of the previous PE's been 2-disc (except Beauty and The Beast which did actually get the beautiful red covered DVD digipack, but it wasn't sold everywhere in Finland). I can live with this, but please BV say this is an exception and that the upcoming PE's will stay as 2-discs (I couldn't stand the idea of Lady and the Tramp or the Little Mermaid being only one disc, really).

I don't understand how Disney can release a 1-disc platinum? I mean Rolkie you said you got 'most' of the important features that the US 2 disc had, but i think thats nasty....you should've gotten the exact same as the US version, in the end your money is just as valuable as the dollar or pound so why are Disney trying to get away with it?

Well, the Platinum Editions aren't called that way in Europe, I think. At least not in The Netherlands. They're all called Special Editions. The Netherlands did get two versions of Cinderella, a 1-disc and a 2-disc. The 1-disc doesn't include the ESNP Classic featurette. We did get a 1-disc of Snow White, but the others are all 2-disc.Enchantress wrote:I don't understand how Disney can release a 1-disc platinum?

Yeah, i live in the UK, and we get Special edition as well, but i said Platinum, because there are also other special edition titles, so i thought it'd stop some confusion.FrankV wrote:Well, the Platinum Editions aren't called that way in Europe, I think. The release is a half-way release so that's why I would like to put my money on the 100% release instead of this, but my options to that are small and I find the extras in the 1-disc PE good enough to make me buy it. If someone knows why they release a 2-disc release in a European country but not in the other, and some countries have even got both versions, then please tell me.

No, that feature has been axed. Appearantly, the disc contains the movie, some games and some brief making-of features.punkoala wrote:That's a shame as the only bonus you'll probably get is how Cinderella influenced American Sports.nordic wrote: Well, all the platinum editions in Norway has been 2-discs, except Cinderella, which looks like it will be a 1-disc release.
