Batman Begins

It's a great Batman movie. It's a great movie. The two main villains are among my favourite and even though the film is over two hours I wanted to see more of their stories.

Watched two of my newest additions to the collection:

George Romero's Land of the Dead the Unrated Director's Cut. Really good film and a good finish to the Quadrilogy.

Batman Begins just watched the movie tonight will watch the extras in another day or so. This is the definitive Batman story, well told, and like others have said...........I wish they could have given the villains more of a story, but I am satisfied with what we have. Christian Bale, Michael Caine are perfect in their roles. Can't wait for the next two movies to come out.

Family Guy Presents Stewie Griffin:

LOVED IT! I was laughing so much. and I just couldn't believe that they managed to put so many very "strong" jokes on it.

I really have to give credit to the writers: they made fun of everything!

Most funny moments for me:

- the whole intro; especially the Futurama joke.

- the reporter joke on: "... and finally after so many days of frustration I got my period back" ( or something similar)

- when Louis declared herself lesbian (or bi)?

- and the Thundercats parody... I really didn't expect that one!


And Batman Begins; AGAIN, amazingly crafted. And for once, I really liked the character of Alfred.

But, Scarecrow needed more screentime. I mean, not as much as that he was the main character, but just a little bit more of it. I especially didn't like how he just went away. And hope he comes back.

Today was movie day for me:

Alien versus Predator: started to watch it then stopped it and finally right now I'm about to finish it. Before when I bought ti I thought the movie was pretty good. Now I don't know anymore. One thing is clear: everytime I'm watching it, I feel the need to go and buy/watch the Aliens' movies; love the atmosphere.

And because of the soon arrival of Episode 3:

Episode 1: I don't know why people consider ir so bad (aside from Jar Jar Binks). I mean, come on.... the saga had to star somewhere. And given the fact that this one starts to establish the war and Anakin is a kid its meant to be this way.

I love the introductory feeling/journey. And besides, the movie has much more action scenes in it than The Fellowship (especially the EE) has and nobody complains about it.

Episode 2: Filling the holes for the people that think the first part was so bad. Awesome action sequences. In fact, this is the movie that made me really get into the whole Star Wars thing.

Robots: BORING!!!! Plus the whole design really hurt my sight. I don't know why. I'm glad I didn't buy it when I had the chance. The only EXTREMELY funny scene was the Britney Spears parody. I laughed so hard on it.

Sin City: Another one that I'm glad I didn't buy.I really liked the whole comic book style but even though I love violent movies, I found this one too much and disturbing for my taste. I felt kind of sick after watching it.

Tried to get Kram to watch Legend last night, but he didn't like it so we stopped it about halfway through. Tonight I was semi-watching Chicago on NBC, more listening to it in the background than watching.

Just finished watching Nausicaa Of The Valley

I really enjoyed it, had a strong message as well, without it taking over the entire movie, i'm glad i bought it! I warmed to the characters as well, which is probably why the ending seemed so well done.
Overall, highy recomended

The last movie I watched was Empire Strikes Back. Its still hard for me to rank the 6 Star Wars films, but Empire is easily near the top. Great movie from beginning to end.

The Cat In The Hat........is pretty darn crap.

I had high hopes for this, though i cant stand mike myers i thought maybe you wouldnt be able to tell its him, when infact i think throughout the film all they tried to do was make sure you get it into your head that its him, its like yes we know who he is 'austin powers' we dont need to be reminded, but obviously Dreamworks felt we did. It could have been good if there was abit more imagination in it, and get some decent kids in as well. Overall score 2/5. Im glad i didnt pick this up on dvd afew weeks back......

Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
I really enjoyed this movie!

It costed me an arm and a leg to get in though.

#1. It costed me $10.00 CDN to get into the movie.
#2. Then I bought some popcorn, it costed $6.00 CDN for a medium size.
#3. Next, I buy a drink, they charge $3.50 CDN for a small coca-cola.

Total: $19.50 CDN (estimate)
I could have bought the movie for the price of getting in.

This is the last time I go see a movie for a while.

Sleepy Hollow - Awesome! Tim Burton really surprised me with this. I thought he'd put in some camp he usually has, but to my surprise it was a truely dark movie. Loved it all the way through!

Pretty good list of movies there Lazario except I wouldn't consider the John Waters films as horror films. They are gender-bending classics. Good list though.

Watched How The West Was Won while duping it to DVD+R. Forgot how moving this picture was. Kinda like a history lesson about the old west in Three hours.

Being I got 14 Hitchcock movies in the mail, it is not surprising the list below:

Family Plot (6) - Better than I remembered as his last film is little slow in the beginning but picks up in the second half.

Topaz (6) - Not a bad film but like a lot of his later films, takes some time to pick up. Great suspense thoughout the movie and is better than its reputation.

Rope (7) - One of Hitch's technical tricks and he captures the "stage" atmosphere well. Great scene with the maid clearly the trunk.

The Man Who Knew Too Much (8) - The 1956 with James Stewart and Doris Day. Very well done in every sense especially the acting of Stewart & Day. Leave to Hitch to incorporate Day's ability to sing Que Sera, to help solve the problem.

Rear Window (10) - One of my favorites as Hitch creates a pure cinematic experiences. One of technical experiments as practically the whole film is showing James Stewart being a peeping Tom. One of his better dialogue pictures and the main three stars, Stewart, Grace Kelly and Thelma Ritter are perfect. Of course, when is Thelma not perfect.
