Perhaps you'd be really nice to her and give her the 3-Disc set as a gift. :P

Hmmm....

Post by Aqua »

How beautiful!

:o

However, what's this? Why is Cameron on the art cover and why is the Titanic not in the center of the picture no more? Damn it, he's letting his ego get to him! As someone said, the film is not called ''ROSE AND JACK'', but ''TITANIC'', you know, a real historical tragedy that happend some 94 years ago? Of course, Paramount may aruge that by putting his picture on the cover, teenage girls all over the world will flock the the stores just buy it simply because he's ''cute''. Disturbing if you put too much thought into it.

Again, my impression of that picture is Cameron is trying to say

''I'm bigger than ship!''

Bigger than sh...? Oh shiP :D

Despite Camaroon's not-so-noble intentions, Titanic really is the Jack and Rose show after all. It really doesn't cut the mustard as a serious drama about a terrible historical event. If you want one of those, pick up A Night to Remember ( '58 ), which has no badly scripted fictional 'plots' filled with insulting stereotypes, it just sticks to the facts (and very good it is too)

The 1953 is great too

Clifton Webb + Barbara Stanwyck > Leonardo DiCaprio + Kate Winslet. Saying that, although it does not focus on the Titanic historically, the drama (or psuedo-love story IMHO) can be taken more seriously then two lovestruck bratty teenagers.

That's not the 1958 A Night to Remember, but the 1953 Titanic (also made by Fox oddly enough). I've never seen it.

I know, which is why if you read the subject line, it would've said this.

BTW, ANTR is a excellent film however, the only thing I didn't like was not showing the ship break, but at that time, nobody knew that it did so it's understandable.

The video doesn't sound too promising, but I'll judge it for myself.

The Digital Bits have posted a great detailed review on Titanic:

Aqua, I wouldn't pay attention to the 19 year old reviewing the Video transfer of this 3-Disc set. Read TDB review, they're experts! (Remember DVDtown gave the straight from the digital source transfer of Revenge of the Sith an 8 ) :!:

Not a great review but not bad either. It sounds like it's as good of a release as we're going to get right now. And it's price isn't bad either (for a three disc) so I'll definitely be picking it up. It is just really annoying that Best Buy won't be carrying the bonus 4th disc. :x

Why cheat us out of it?? I just don't get it. If it's made, why not release it? Probably just to keep us holding on for when the next version comes out. Grr.

I think i'll pick this up when it comes to England it looks like a nice set, but i think the main reason i want to see it, is because of the mysterious 'different ending'

Bought "Titanic - 3-disc Collector's Edition" yesterday and all I can say is Wow!!! Was a little disappointed that they split the movie in two halves so the third disc is the only one that has all the extras. The branching feature is a little distracting but very good. Will have to take time to watch this all the way through without the branching features and then again with the branching features.

All the extras are well worth the long wait for this edition. I was impressed with all the detail and most impressed with the alternate ending.

And Best Buy did price match the Ultimate Electronics price of $15.99 (a price I had mistakingly said was included in the $13.95 new release titles.)

A great addition to any movie collection and this is from a non-fan of Lennard DeCrapio. I actually liked this movie despite his presence.

I wanna be spoiled. What happens in the alternate ending? (write it in white so as to not spoil it for others) {color=white}text{/color} (except use brackets [ ] to get it to work)

Was gonna buy this yesterday, but my mom was complaining too much (actually trying to say that I didn't need the 3-disc because we had Titanic on VHS...in Pan&Scan) and I knew I wouldn't hear the end of it, so I put it back for now. Probably gonna wait till Christmas or Black Friday.

Lennard DeCrapio, lol.

Hahaha! Though I'm not a fan of him, this is the one movie I can stand. :) Now, I'm interested in that alternate ending! Ooh, I can't wait to sit Ryan down to watch it...that'd be fun! :p

I can picture it now. The two of you cuddled together on the sofa, crying your eyes out, for different reasons of course. Ryan, because he has to watch this movie, and you because it's such a tearjerker...

I really liked the alternate ending

SPOILER: It shows the crew having a party then it shows rose's grandaughter talking to the guy looking for the heart of the ocean. then you see rose go to the end of the boat and climb the rail. her grandaughter sees her, thinks she's killing herself, and runs after her then all the charaters meet up by rose and they see that she has the necklace. they are all kind of mad that she kept it from them and they want it. Rose lets the main guy touch it then makes him realize that money isn't everything. so he gives it to her and lets her throw it in the ocean. then he looks at the grandaughter and shows he has feelings for her then he screams and laughs and the guy with the beard is really mad. then it goes back to the origional ending with rose back on the titanic.

I know it sounds like I made it up but it's real EVERY ONE GO BUY THIS DVD IT's SOOOO WORTH IT.

I know this is late - its unavailable now - but I just discovered that Virgin in the UK had a FIVE disc Titanic set!

http://www.virginmegastores.co.uk/invt/669225

Does anyone know what was one the 5th disc? I'm guessing it was the soundtrack CD, but I don't know.
